Bregman will not play this weekend, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old returned to the lineup Wednesday, but with Houston officially eliminated from postseason contention on Thursday, he will be shut back down. Bregman struggled initially upon arrival to the major leagues but quickly adjusted and finished with an impressive .791 OPS in 217 plate appearances. He appears primed to open 2017 in an everyday role.

Bregman is out of the lineup Friday against the Angels, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
It was feared that Bregman's season was over as a result of a hamstring injury but he made a surprise return to the lineup Wednesday, finishing 1-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to Seattle. He will turn third base over to Yulieski Gurriel on Friday but Bregman figures to start at least one of the Astros' final two games of the regular season.

Bregman went 1-for-4 with an RBI in his return to the starting lineup Wednesday against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start since Sept. 14 after dealing with a hamstring injury, Bregman was back in the two-hole and delivered an RBI single in the fifth inning. Prior to his injury, the 22-year-old was on fire, hitting .316 with three home runs and 12 RBI over 13 games in September. His return to the lineup is a welcome sight for the Astros, who are barely clinging onto playoff hope. However, another loss or Orioles win would eliminate them from contention.

Bregman (hamstring) is in the lineup Wednesday against the Mariners, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bregman has been working back from a hamstring injury, and as of Tuesday morning, it was unclear whether he'd be able to return to action in 2016. The infielder made a surprise appearance in Tuesday night's matchup with Seattle, entering as a pinch hitter and going 1-for-1 at the plate with an RBI single. Bregman was initially scheduled to fly to Florida to work in the Astros' Instructional League, but he'll instead remain in Houston and get the starting nod at third base Wednesday afternoon. It will be Bregman's first start since Sept. 14.

Bregman (hamstring) made a surprise pinch hit appearance Tuesday against the Mariners, going 1-for-1 with an RBI single.
EDGE Analysis
It wasn't even clear that Bregman would play again this season. He had a flight book to get work in the Instructional League in Florida, but that flight was canceled after Tuesday's game. Bregman was immediately taken out in favor of a pinch runner after the hit, so it's not clear when he will be healthy enough to return to the lineup for a full game. This is an encouraging development that offers his owners some hope that they will get more production from the star rookie before the end of the season.

Bregman (hamstring) will take groundballs Monday, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bregman had previously been limited to running and taking BP, but he'll now begin working in the field prior to Monday's game. With only a week remaining in the regular season, it remains to be seen whether Bregman will be able to return, or if he'll turn his attention toward preparing for 2017.

Bregman ran Thursday for the first time since suffering the hamstring injury, Angel Verdejo Jr. of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Thursday's activity represented a positive step forward for Bregman and he said he felt "fine" afterward, but the 22-year-old acknowledged that he is still without a timetable. With just 10 days remaining in the regular season (after Thursday), there's little reason for optimism in regard to Bregman's chances to play again in 2016, but a return has not been officially ruled out. General manager Jeff Luhnow said earlier this week that Bregman's injury typically required 4-to-6 weeks of recovery time.

Bregman's hamstring injury usually needs 4-6 weeks of recovery time according to Astros GM Jeff Luhnow, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Luhnow did say that recovery time can be pushed a bit, but even so, Bregman has only missed one week. With just under two weeks left in the regular season, expecting Bregman to make a return seems wildly optimistic. Perhaps he can make a postseason appearance if the Astros manage a deep run, but his fantasy season is most likely over.

Bregman (hamstring) may be shut down for the remainder of the season, Jake Kaplan of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager A.J. Hinch told reporters Friday that Bregman would have immediately been placed on the DL if his injury occurred in any month but September, which obviously does not bode well for the top prospect's chances at getting back on the field this season. Yulieski Gurriel is the logical stopgap at third while Bregman is sidelined, but losing Bregman is a crushing blow to the Astros overall. Bregman got off to a famously slow start at the dish upon arriving to the show, but he slashed .319/.362/.639 with eight home runs and 28 RBI in his last month's worth of games.

Bregman (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners.
EDGE Analysis
As expected, Bregman will sit out Friday's game and possibly the entire weekend as he receives treatment on his injured hamstring. Yulieski Gurriel will take at third base Friday and bat second in the order against Felix Hernandez.
