Bregman pulled up as he advanced to third base on a Tyler White groundout in the sixth inning and left the game shortly thereafter. The Astros have since clarified that it was indeed a hamstring issue that forced Bregman out, but the severity of the injury is unknown as is Bregman's status for Friday's series opener in Seattle.

He's also now over halfway to his 20 RBI total from August with Saturday's production.

Bregman is riding a seven-game hitting streak in which he's notched five multi-hit performances including Thursday's effort. He's raised his average 24 points since the start of August by collecting 13 hits, including two doubles and three triples. The rookie is also enjoying an on-base streak of 22 games, matching his age. Bregman is surprisingly one of the best assets to own headed toward the finish line of the 2016 campaign.

EDGE Analysis

Bregman has now reached base in 19 consecutive games dating back to August 16, with all seven of his home runs as well as five doubles and a triple over that span. He owns a ridiculous .704 slugging percentage over those 19 games, which should put to rest some of the concerns over his power production that were raised by his slow start.

EDGE Analysis

Bregman has displayed a lot more power in his rookie time in the big leagues this year than he has the past two seasons in Single-A. His power is especially valuable at shortstop, and along with multi-position eligibility, the 22-year-old has shown good plate discipline through a solid walk rate.

Bregman now has hits in five straight and 10 of his last 11, bringing his improving season line up to .242/.301/.435 after a slow start.

Bregman drove in George Springer with both of his run-scoring hits Saturday, a solo shot in the first that opened the scoring and an RBI two-bagger in the ninth that capped it off. The 22-year-old has now hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games and currently boasts a five-game hitting streak.
