Bregman continued his hot ways, going 3-5 with a single, double and triple for team USA at the All-Star Futures game on Sunday.

There is not much else Bregman has to prove to the Astros at this point. Since being called up to Triple-A Fresno, he's hit .389/.421/.889 with five home runs and 14 RBI in only 36 at-bats. The only thing keeping Bregman in the minors at this point is the recent resurgence of current Houston third baseman Luis Valubena. Once Valbuena begins to cool off, expect Bregman to get the call and supplant Valbuena as the everyday player at the hot corner.

Bregman has played solely shortstop since being promoted to Triple-A, as the Astros want him to feel comfortable against the pitching at the new level without having to worry about learning a new position at the same time, the Houston Chronicle's Jake Kaplan reports.

General manager Jeff Luhnow admitted that Bregman will move to third base for Triple-A Fresno in the near future, as he has clearly had little trouble adjusting to the pitching at the highest level of the minors. He is slashing .400/.438/.900 with four homers in 30 at-bats since the promotion, and his season line across Double-A and Triple-A is a preposterous .308/.418/.598. It's a matter of when, not if, the Astros will promote Bregman to the big leagues, so he should be rostered in most formats at this point.

It's a small sample size, but Bregman has a whopping 1.143 slugging percentage and 1.665 OPS with the Grizzlies. He's highly unlikely to overtake Carlos Correa as the Astros' starting shortstop and Luis Valbuena has hit .303 over the last 30 days at third base, but if Bregman continues to rake like this, Houston may have no choice but to find at-bats for him before their playoff push.

The 22-year-old could be a second-half addition to the surging Astros, but the team will like to see how he acclimates himself to pitching at the next level before calling him up to the majors.

With a .410 on-base percentage to go with 14 homers and 45 RBI across 233 at-bats at Double-A Corpus Christi, Bregman seemingly has little left to prove in the Texas League and appears ready to test himself against better competition. The Astros haven't ruled out the possibility of Bregman joining the big club this season, but that likely wouldn't happen until after the All-Star break.
