The speedy young outfielder drew the start in left field and hit atop Robin Ventura's lineup, with last season's leadoff hitter Alejandro De Aza given the day off. Provided he remains in that role, his combination of power and speed make him a very intriguing commodity in fantasy drafts this spring.

White Sox acquired OF Adam Eaton in a three-team trade with the Diamondbacks and Angels. White Sox GM Rick Hahn said Tuesday while announcing the swap that he's been pestering Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers about a trade for Eaton since the offseason began, calling him a true "dirtbag" type of player. Eaton got a late start in 2013 because of an injury and never quite got his bat going, but he's a highly-athletic outfielder with great power and speed potential. The 25-year-old could flourish in Chicago.

Keith Law of ESPN reports that trade talks between the Angels and Diamondbacks regarding Mark Trumbo and Tyler Skaggs have expanded to include the White Sox. As part of the proposed three-way deal, Diamondbacks outfielder Adam Eaton would be headed to Chicago while the White Sox would send left-hander Hector Santiago to the Angels. It's not done yet and there will likely be other pieces involved, but it could be a creative way for all three teams to address areas of need.
