White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Thursday that Adam Eaton (hamstring) is likely to need a rehab assignment before returning. Eaton has been limited to riding a stationary bike since landing on the DL last weekend but is "progressing," according to Ventura. "He'll probably go out and do something," the skipper said when asked about a rehab assignment for Eaton. "I think once you take that much time and you haven't seen pitches, live pitches, you at least want to go out and do something, to where you get your timing back. You don't want a guy coming back and not having his timing and then having to catch back up on the fly out here. It usually doesn't work out that well."

White Sox placed outfielder Adam Eaton on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring. This is quite a blow for the White Sox to lose a second starting outfielder. They'll probably go to Jordan Danks in center field most of the time, though they do have the option of using Alejandro De Aza there and Moises Sierra in left field. Danks is worth adding in AL-only leagues while Eaton is out.
