Conley remains in the running for one of the Marlins' three open rotation spots despite being less than impressive so far this spring, Clark Spencer of The Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 27-year-old lefty has only a 2:1 K:BB through eight spring innings, and while Conley might have more big-league experience than most of his competition, his career 4.60 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 6.3 K/9 might encourage the Marlins to go in another direction if he can't produce more positive numbers over the rest of camp.

Conley will compete for one of the Marlins' final three rotation spots in spring training, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Manager Don Mattingly confirmed Dan Straily and Jose Urena will reprise their respective roles in the Marlins' rotation, but beyond that, he left the competition wide open for the remaining three spots. Conley should be viewed as one of the favorites to earn one of the spots given his previous experience in the big-league rotation, though he's coming off a brutal 2017 campaign (6.14 ERA across 102.2 innings) and will need to pitch better in spring training if he wants to break camp in the team's rotation.

Conley (7-8) allowed six runs on three hits and three walks without striking out a batters through just 1.1 innings to take the loss to Colorado on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
While the 27-year-old lefty has tossed a number of strong outings in the second half, Conley has also now been pulled in the second inning of consecutive games. Additionally, allowing 13 runs through just three innings over those past two starts has him up to a 6.20 ERA and 1.53 WHIP for the campaign. His start-to-start inconsistency significantly hurt his fantasy value this year, and it's probably best to take a wait-and-see approach with Conley in the majority of settings entering next season.

Conley coughed up seven runs on six hits and a walk in only 1.2 innings Friday but escaped with a no-decision in a 13-11 loss to the Diamondbacks.
EDGE Analysis
It was his shortest outing since April 28, when he also got chased with two outs in the second inning by the Pirates. Conley saw his ERA spike to 5.74, but things may not get much better for the lefty in his final start of the year Wednesday, when the Marlins travel to Coors Field.

Conley (7-7) picked up the win after allowing three runs on five hits and three walks in 5.2 innings Saturday against the Brewers. He struck out six.
EDGE Analysis
Conley appeared to be cruising to his ninth quality start of the season before back to back homers from Ryan Braun and Travis Shaw forced him out of the game in the sixth inning. The 27-year-old southpaw has had issues keeping the ball in the park lately, allowing nine home runs in his last six starts, which hasn't helped his already inflated ERA. Conley, who owns an unsightly 5.20 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 72:38 K:BB through 98.2 innings this season, will make his next start Friday against the Diamondbacks.

Conley allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks across 4.2 innings Saturday while striking out two batters. He didn't factor into the decision during the Marlins' 6-5 loss to the Braves.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty holds an uninviting 5.23 ERA on the season, along with a 6.4 K/9 and 3.4 BB/9 over 93 innings. Conley will continue to eat innings for the Marlins, though, and perhaps his brief flashes of fantasy utility can help brave owners looking for streamer help down the stretch. He could scratch out some strikeouts against the whiff-happy Brewers on Friday, but the accompanying ratio work could get ugly.

Conley (6-7) allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two batters through just four innings during Monday's loss to Washington.
EDGE Analysis
While the lefty has endured a couple rough outings since returning from injury July 18, he entered Monday's outing with a serviceable 3.72 ERA and 1.31 WHIP. Conley's 6.5 K/9 limits his fantasy upside, but there are still plenty of settings where he moves the needle, especially if he's only utilized in soft matchups. Washington definitely doesn't fit into that category. Conley lines up to face the Braves at SunTrust Park in his next start.

Conley (6-6) fell to the Nationals on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings while striking out three.
EDGE Analysis
Stephen Strasburg was busy twirling a shutout opposite Conley, so despite his third quality start in his last four outings, the left-hander was headed for a loss once he served up two solo homers in the fifth inning. Conley's early-season struggles still leave him saddled with a 5.02 ERA, but his 3.72 mark since the All-Star break has him firmly back in the Marlins' future rotation plans. The 27-year-old will get a rematch against the Nats on Monday back home in Miami.

Conley gave up five runs on six hits while striking out four over 5.1 innings Friday but escaped with a no-decision in an 8-6 win over the Padres.
EDGE Analysis
The lefty carried a 5-2 lead into the sixth before allowing three straight hits and a sac fly to begin the frame, only to watch Dustin McGowan serve up a homer to Jabari Blash immediately after replacing him. Conley has now been tagged for at least three runs in four of his five August starts, leaving him with an unappealing 5.28 ERA on the month.

Conley (6-5) struck out 11 over seven one-run innings while earning the victory Sunday against the Mets, allowing three hits and two walks along the way.
EDGE Analysis
Conely was electric in this one, throwing 67 percent of his pitches for strikes while reaching double-digit punchouts for the first time in his career. He was scored upon and allowed a pair of stolen bases in the first inning, but he settled down and put just three men on base over the next six frames. Conley has now earned back-to-back wins with a pair of quality starts and will look to keep it going Friday in a favorable matchup with the Padres.
