Hicks is out of the lineup Wednesday against the Astros, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the righthanded Collin McHugh on the mound, Hicks will cede the starting left field job back to Brett Gardner. Hicks went 0-for-2 with a walk in his Yankees debut Tuesday and will continue to see at-bats against lefties throughout the season in either left or center field.

Hicks is expected to get the start on Opening Day against the Astros, Wallace Matthews of ESPN New York reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Hicks is expected to primarily serve as the Yankees' fourth outfielder this season, manager Joe Girardi intimated that the 26-year-old would be in the lineup at either center or left field on Opening Day. The Yankees are matched up with left-hander Dallas Keuchel, and Hicks is coming off of a season in which he hit .307 with seven extra-base hits in 101 at-bats versus lefties. If, indeed, Hicks is named a starter, either Brett Gardner or Jacoby Ellsbury would shift to the bench Monday.

Hicks (eye) went 1-for-3 with a triple in Friday's Grapefruit League action.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks was scratched from Thursday's game with an eye issue, but it was apparently a minor one as he was able to return to the lineup without any issue the next day. The switch hitter could slot into the lineup against lefties to give fellow outfielders Jacoby Ellsbury or Brett Gardner the occasional day off, but Hicks figures to serve primarily as the club's fourth outfielder.

Hicks was scratched from Thursday's spring game due to a stye on his eyelid, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks will visit an eye doctor instead of participating in Thursday's game. He'll likely just be day-to-day and could be back in the lineup as soon as this weekend. It's not clear how much playing time Hicks will get early in the season, as the Yankees also have Jacoby Ellsbury, Brett Gardner (wrist) and Carlos Beltran in the outfield, with Alex Rodriguez once again set to get the vast majority of at-bats at DH.

Hicks was traded to the Yankees on Wednesday in exchange for John Ryan Murphy.
EDGE Analysis
The Twins had an excess of outfielders, and wanted to make room for Max Kepler, so it makes sense in that regard. Hicks, a 26-year-old switch hitter, can handle all three outfield spots and has legitimate 20/20 potential. However, it will be difficult for him to play everyday if the Yankees don't make another move, as Brett Gardner, Jacoby Ellsbury and Carlos Beltran are all under contract and Aaron Judge is waiting in the wings. His value won't be fully known until the rest of the offseason shakes out.

Hicks is out of the lineup Sunday against the Royals, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks will receive the final day of the regular season off as the Twins have been eliminated from playoff contention. Byron Buxton will instead replace him in center field, leading off for the Twins.

Hicks is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Indians, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com.
EDGE Analysis
In 92 games this season, Hicks has been one of the best hitters on the Twins, hitting for a .258/.320/.402 slash line with 11 home runs, 32 RBI and 13 stolen bases. He gives way to Byron Buxton in center field for the first game.

Hicks is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader with the Angels, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 25-year-old has been atop the order for each of the Twins' last 15 games (including Game 1), but will head to the bench following an 0-for-5 showing in Saturday's matinee. Byron Buxton will take over in center while Brian Dozier leads off against right-hander Garrett Richards.

Hicks went 1-for-4 with his 11th homer and 12th steal against the Angels on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The full skill set has been on display for Hicks during his time in the majors this year, as he's been a credit in center field while racking up fantasy-friendly stats in spades -- Hicks' 162-game pace adds up to a 20-20 season, and his much-improved strikeout rate makes a decent-or-better batting average sustainable. Don't forget about him in next season's drafts.

Hicks started in left field in Sunday's loss to Houston and went 1-for-5 while batting leadoff.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks will shift among all three outifeld spots in September as Byron Buxton will play center field when in the lineup, Hicks will play left field when Buxton and Hunter are in the lineup and right field when Eddie Rosario and Buxton are in the outfield. Hicks should be in the everyday lineup and bat leadoff the rest of the season no matter where he plays.
