Hicks (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
The Yankees will leave Hicks out Friday after he left Wednesday's contest with a tweaked hamstring. It's unclear if this will require just a few days off or a longer absence, but Aaron Judge figures to serve as the regular right fielder for the Yankees for the time being.

Hicks departed Wednesday's game against the Royals in the ninth inning due to a right hamstring strain, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks injured himself running to first base and was replaced in right field by Aaron Judge in the bottom half of the inning. He may miss some time depending on the severity of the injury, but his next chance to return comes Friday when the Yankees open up a series in Baltimore.

Hicks went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in Saturday's win over the Orioles.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks has managed to maintain essentially an everyday role in the Yankees outfield, and though the emergence of prospect Aaron Judge threatened to eat into his playing time, the 26-year-old has managed to have his most productive month in August. On the month, he's hitting .310 with four of his seven home runs on the season, so his bat figures to continue being in the lineup most games.

Hicks will remain in the lineup in left field Sunday against the Rays. He'll bat second in the order.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks has started 12 games in a row for the Yankees and seems to be finally catching fire, going 5-for-11 with two homers, four RBI, three runs and a stolen base over his last three appearances. Unfortunately, he's still sitting on a .203/.263/.329 batting line over 271 plate appearances on the season, and his outlook going forward doesn't appear promising. Hicks has been able to maintain his spot in the lineup the last two days thanks to Brett Gardner's ankle injury, but once Gardner returns, Hicks could be forced to settle for backup duties in the outfield. Aaron Judge, who was promoted from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday, looks in line to serve as the Yankees' everyday right fielder the rest of the way, joining Gardner and Jacoby Ellsbury as regular starters in the outfield.

Hicks will start in right field and bat eighth in the order Sunday against the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
It's the sixth straight start for Hicks, who has been one of the main beneficiaries of the Aug. 1 trade that sent Carlos Beltran to the Rangers. Hicks should get a fair shake at a full-time role over the course of the final two months, but he may need to start producing in order to hold off Rob Refsnyder for duties in right field. Over 252 plate appearances this season, Hicks has slashed an awful .197/.259/.307.

Hicks is not in the starting lineup for Friday's contest with Tampa Bay, Mark Feinsand of NY Daily News reports.
EDGE Analysis
After seeing six consecutive starts, Hicks will get a day off as Rob Refsnyder replaces him in right and bats ninth. Hicks continues to struggle at the plate as he's only collected seven hits in his last 20 games (.152 BA), lowering his season line to .189/.254/.291.

Hicks will start in right field and bat ninth in the lineup Sunday against the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Alex Rodriguez's offensive struggles this month have opened the door for more playing time for Hicks, who has typically entered the outfield mix whenever Carlos Beltran swaps in for Rodriguez at designated hitter. Though he'll be making his fourth start in five games, Hicks has yet to seize the opportunity, going 1-for-11 with a walk in the preceding three starts.

Hicks didn't start Thursday, but went 0-for-1 after replacing Rob Refsnyder in right field in the win over the Indians.
EDGE Analysis
Hicks had started 10 of the previous 11 games as the Yankees remained committed to getting the switch-hitter in the lineup against left-handed pitching, but he's been mired in a season-long slump. Hitting just .200 -- and only .155 against southpaws -- could spell more frequent days off going forward.

Hicks went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Twins.
EDGE Analysis
The 26-year-old victimized his former team with his first homer of June. Hicks was considerably struggling at the plate heading into the month, but has now produced a .282/.300/.436 line since June 1. The improved play has boosted his average 25 points to .217, offering the Yankees some solid production from the latter half of the order.

Hicks went 0-for-3 Tuesday but drove in the team's only run in the loss to the Blue Jays.
EDGE Analysis
The hitless showing dropped Hicks' average down to just .192, and after being added to the Yankees for his prowess against lefties, he's hitting just .159 against southpaws. He figures to continue seeing somewhat consistent playing time to give one of the regular starters a day off, but unless the numbers improve, there's not much going for Hicks from a fantasy perspective.
