Plax had been running behind Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, Markus Wheaton, and Jerricho Cotchery in Steelers camp. He finished 2012 with three catches for 42 yards and one touchdown in three appearances. Outside of red-zone packages, Burress was not slated for a large role in Pittsburgh's 2013 offense.

Plaxico Burress feels he can still "dominate" in the red zone. "I know I can still play, I know I can dominate in the red zone," Burress, 35, said. "In those one-on-one opportunities, just succeed at a high rate. I know I can." Burress might be a factor near the goal line, but he's not expected to play a major offensive role between the 20s as the No. 4 or 5 receiver.

Plax still has a big name, but his game has been far less notable since an 18-month prison sentence on weapons charges in New York kept him out of football for all of 2009 and 2010. Burress appeared in four games in Pittsburgh last year, catching three balls and scoring once. He'll turn 36 before the upcoming season.
