He's been more consistent of late, and there's no doubt he can turn things around in the second half of the season. But he'll need his team to continue showing signs of life. He faces the Kings on Saturday afternoon, a team which blanked him earlier in the season.

What a great way to head into the holiday break for Simmonds, who has amassed 19 points in 34 games this season. With a previous career high of 116 PIM, his 82 this season are actually well over-and-above his usual standard of transgression, while his 78 shots on goal aren't bad either. Look for the 27-year-old to pick up the pace offensively as the newly-appointed line of Simmonds, Jakub Voracek and Sean Couturier have been clicking of late.
