Simmonds scored his first game-winner of the season in Saturday's 4-2 triumph over the Blue Jackets. Simmonds' second-period tally came via the power-play, where five of his eight goals have come this season. His scoring pace has slowed considerably since he busted out with seven points in his first four games to start the season, but he still produces points with enough frequency to warrant a roster spot in any format.

Simmonds scored a power-play goal and assisted on another in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Avalanche. He also collected two PIM and four hits and finished the night minus-1. While Simmonds should always be a start, he's especially valuable at home. He's got nine points in eight home games, and just two in his six road games.

Simmonds took over the left wing spot for Chris VandeVelde, who was filling in for the injured Michael Raffl (lower body), Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports. It took Flyers' coach Craig Berube just one period to yank the leash on Chris VandeVelde and replace him with Simmonds. While the left wing is not Simmonds' natural spot -- he said he hadn't played it since he was 12 -- he did manage to assist on Jakub Voracek's goal later in the game. The move to the top line could mean a points-surge for the assistant captain, and fantasy owners should keep watch. He remains a start in all fantasy fixtures.

Simmonds collected an assist and four PIM in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Panthers. He also improved to a plus-8 for the season, good enough for top 10 in the league. He'll be a definite start Tuesday when the Flyers take on the Oilers at home.

Simmonds tallied a goal in Thursday's loss to the Lightning. After compiling seven points in the Flyers' first four games of the season, Simmonds has cooled considerably since then, as Thursday's goal snapped a five-game pointless streak. He's still been firing off shots at a decent clip amid the dry spell, so it's probably just a matter of staying patient before a torrent of points starts coming again.

Simmonds picked up a goal and an assist -- both on the power play -- in Tuesday's shootout loss to the Ducks. That makes five goals and seven points over the last three games for Simmonds, with four of them coming on the power play. That's a hell of a way to get started building on your first 60-point season.

Simmonds scored twice, including once on the power play, in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Canadiens. He ended last season on a hot streak and is clearly just continuing the strong play this year. He scored twice within 57 seconds on Thursday night and had a hat trick in Game 6 of the Flyers' first-round playoff series. The two goals Saturday came about 17 minutes apart, but the first one came 18 seconds after a teammate had scored. Use him well.

Simmonds bounced back from Wednesday's quiet season debut to rack up two goals, an assist and a plus-2 rating Thursday in a loss to the Devils. Simmonds didn't even put a puck on goal Wednesday, but apparently got a lot better overnight. He led the Flyers on a mad charge back from a 3-0 deficit, with his two goals bringing the score to 3-2 and then 3-3, and then he collected the primary assist on Vinny Lecavalier's goal, which tied the game at 4-4. Considering Simmonds' impressive development and heavy power-play usage, it's not at all unreasonable to think he can come close to matching last year's 60-point, 106-PIM campaign.

Simmonds (lower body) was on the ice for morning skate and has been given clearance to play in Wednesday's opener against the Bruins, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Considered probable heading into Wednesday, Simmonds confirmed his availability by taking part in morning skate in full capacity. He had confined to a walking boot briefly last week upon injuring his left foot, but he's not expected to have any limitations against the Bruins.

Simmonds (lower body) hopes to play in Wednesday's season opener against the Bruins, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Simmonds has been slowed by an injury the last few days, but he was able to practice both Monday and Tuesday, so consider him on track to play Wednesday. A final decision on Simmonds' status will be announced sometime prior to game time.
