The Flyers traded Lecavalier and Luke Schenn to the Kings in exchange for Jordan Weal and a third-round draft pick on Wednesday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Flyers' are reportedly retaining half of Lecavalier and Schenn's salaries, but are still freeing up over $4 million in cap space, which will give the team some major roster flexibility, and allow them to acquire more players via trade if they desire. Lecavalier is well past his prime, and has only played in seven contests with Philadelphia this season, notching a single assist in those games. It isn't clear what kind of opportunity he'll get with the Kings, but with Weal on his way to the Flyers, he'll at least provide LA with additional depth at center.

Lecavalier (back) took part in Thursday's morning skate, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lecavalier's presence at Thursday's morning skate indicates the veteran forward has recovered from the stiff back that held him out of Philadelphia's Dec. 8 matchup with the Islanders. Lecavalier likely wouldn't have suited up for that contest even if he wasn't hampered by a back issue, as the 35-year-old center has been a healthy scratch for all but seven of Philadelphia's games this season. The former first-round pick has tallied a single assist in seven contests this year.

Lecavalier was once again not in the lineup for Thursday's 4-2 win over St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a challenging year for Lecavalier, who's appeared in just seven games and has only one point on the season. On Tuesday he was dealing with a stiff back, according to Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer, which held him out of the game against the Islanders. No reason was given for Thursday's absence. While general manager Ron Hextall seems reticent to call it quits on the aging center just yet, fantasy owners should feel less reticent.

Lecavalier got an assist in his season debut Thursday, a 4-1 loss to the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
Lecavalier skated a team-low 7:16, finishing plus-1 with a shot. The veteran was forced into the lineup due to an injury to center Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, but was actually pretty productive. We all know what Lecavalier has done in the past, so there's a chance he may get some extra playing time if Bellemare remains sidelined. That doesn't mean you should rush to add him, but he's worth monitoring.

Lecavalier will make his season debut Thursday night against the visiting Devils, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lecavalier warmed the bench for Philly's first eight games, but an apparent lower-body injury to center Pierre-Edouard Bellemare has prompted the team to give Lecavalier another look. We're talking about a guy that dropped 108 points with the Lightning a decade ago, so he clearly knows what it takes to put the puck past goalies, but he's 35 years old now and has seen his point totals largely freefall since 2009-10. Assuming he can start drawing into the lineup more regularly, Lecavalier could show up on the scoresheet on occasion, but temper your expectations as he's definitely not the player he once was.

Lecavalier is expected to be a healthy scratch for Thursday's season-opener, reports Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Lecavalier was as frustrated with the decision as owners who drafted him. His lone preseason goal doesn't seem to have impressed new coach Dave Hakstol, and it looks likely that he'll sit a healthy amount this season.

Coach Dave Hakstol has returned Lecavalier to his natural position at center, reports Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer,
EDGE Analysis
It seems to working well so far this preseason, as Lecavalier's lines have potted two goals in two games this week, including one by the aging center himself. Still, owners should exercise caution. Even if the Flyers' new coach is able to squeeze more out of Lecavalier this season, owners are right to question how much juice is left to squeeze.

Lecavalier was ruled out for Saturday's season finale against the Senators due to a probable concussion, Tim Panaccio of CSN Philadelphia reports. Lecavalier sustained the head injury in Thursday's loss to the Hurricanes. The concussion will end what has been a terrible season that included several healthy scratches for the forward, who will finish with just 20 points in 57 games. He'll still have three years remaining on his contract with the Flyers at a $4.5 million cap hit.

Lecavalier exited Thursday's game early with an upper-body injury. The origin of Lecavalier's injury is a bit unclear, but he was missing from the Flyers' bench for much of the third period. The club indicated that more information on the issue will come at some point Friday.

Lecavalier snagged an assist in Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Islanders. The assist gives him 20 points for the season, a stark total despite his injuries. His production has steadily declined over the last few seasons, and he's barely seeing over 10 minutes of ice time. The aging star doesn't have a bright future for fantasy owners.
