Vincent Lecavalier responded well to his demotion, scoring the 400th and 401st goals of his NHL career, but it wasn't enough as the Philadelphia Flyers lost 4-3 (SO) to the Boston Bruins. Lecavalier had a +2 rating, nine SOG and three hits to go with those two tallies. The veteran forward scored the game-tying marker to give Philly a handy standings point from this one. Jakub Voracek stood out as well on Sunday, with two assists.

Vincent Lecavalier will remain centering the fourth line Sunday when the Flyers meet the Washington Capitals. Lecavalier spent Friday night on the fourth unit and played a strong game. He will still see power play time and scored a power play goal against the Maple Leafs Friday, his 399th NHL goal of his career.

After being demoted by the Flyers to their fourth line, veteran star Vincent Lecavalier sparkled Friday night. Lecavalier responded with one of his best games in a few months, scoring a power-play goal and helping the Flyers defeat freefalling Toronto, 4-2, at the Wells Fargo Center. "Not only that, he was skating and moving his feet," coach Craig Berube said after the Flyers snapped a two-game losing streak and moved to within one point of the New York Rangers in the Metropolitan Division. "That line was very good, very effective." Lecavalier, who had been playing left wing on the second unit, centered a line with Zac Rinaldo and Adam Hall.

Vincent Lecavalier practiced on the Flyers' fourth line on Friday. Lecavalier will also shift from the left wing to center. "It wasn't working where it was, so I put him back in the middle, and it's where we're going to start right now," Flyers coach Craig Berube said. Although Lecavalier might prefer to play at center, he was reportedly visibly upset over the demotion. He's had a rough season with 15 goals and 30 points in 59 games in 2013-14.

Vincent Lecavalier's game winner in overtime was the 900th point in his NHL career. Lecavalier scored the first 874 points of his career as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning but when they bought out his contract at the end of last season, he signed on with the Flyers and has 14 goals and 26 points thus far. He has been battling back issues all season so his fantasy value is not at an all-time high.

The Olympic break has given Vincent Lecavalier a chance to deal with his lingering back injury. Between the back problems and him adjusting from center to the left wing, Lecavalier has scored just 12 goals and 23 points in 46 games this season. After having some time to rest and with him getting used to his new role, he's a good bet to end the 2013-14 campaign on a high note.

Vincent Lecavalier is having trouble adjusting to the left wing. Coach Craig Berube is not putting Lecavalier at center as he is very happy with Claude Giroux, Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier down the middle anchoring the top three lines. He wants to get Lecavalier going but that may be easier said (or written) than done. "Honestly, it's a total change," Lecavalier said. "Being a center all my life, it's totally different. It's hard to explain. You are used to kinda going everywhere on the ice and now it's more staying on that left side." Lecavalier has 12 goals and 22 points in 43 games with a minus-15 rating but on the plus side, he has seven power play goals and 10 points.

Vincent Lecavalier found the back of the net on Thursday. Lecavalier also had a minus-three rating in the 5-3 loss to Anaheim, dropping his rating to a team-worst minus-16. He has 12 goals and 21 points in 42 contests this season.

Coach Craig Berube switched up his lines in practice on Sunday and Vincent Lecavalier found himself with Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds. It looks to be a good second line for the Flyers as Berube also had Michael Raffl with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek while Steve Downie saw time alongside Sean Couturier and Matt Read. The Flyers are slumping again as they have lost their last three games so hopefully the juggling of the lines will help.

Vincent Lecavalier scored his first goal in six games Thursday when he tallied in a 5-2 loss to Columbus. The goal was just the second for the former member of the Lightning in his last 20 games, a drought that he'll never want to go through again. Brayden Schenn was the other Philadelphia scorer in the losing effort.
