Fasth stood his ground for his fifth win of the season Monday, stopping 33 of 37 shots in a 5-4 shootout victory over the Sharks.
Fasth's solid performance was punctuated by another 12 stops in a marathon shootout that was finally ended by the Oilers' Rob Klinkhammer in the 13th round. Fasth had actually been cruising with a 3-1 lead in the third before a three-goal explosion by the Sharks in less than eight minutes left the Oilers trailing by one. Nonetheless, the Swedish twine-tender has now grabbed three wins in his last four starts which should help him get a few more nods in the crease over Ben Scrivens, despite his still-ugly .891 save percentage and 3.31 GAA.

Fasth will be in the crease on Monday against the Sharks, Oilers broadcaster Jack Michaels reports.
Fasth will be back in net for the fourth time in six games, earning a win in the first two in that span. He'll carry a 4-11-2 record, 3.29 GAA, and .891 save percentage into Monday's contest, making him a risky play for fantasy owners.

Fasth allowed just two goals on 29 shots, but took the loss Tuesday against visiting Minnesota.
Ex-Oiler Devan Dubnyk stuck it to his old mates on the other side, ending Fasth's brief two-game winning streak. He's posted save marks of .925 or higher in three of the last four, but Fasth's body of work as a whole this year suggests that he can hardly be trusted by fantasy owners.

Fasth will start Tuesday's game against the Wild.
Fasth, who earned wins in the Oilers' final two games before the NHL All-Star break, checks back in with a 3.37 GAA and .888 save percentage overall.

Fasth made just 20 saves on 24 shots Tuesday in Washington, but rode some late help from his offense to a 5-4 shootout win.
Awful nice of the Oilers to bail out Fasth after he left them in a 4-2 hole with the game winding down, and he actually has consecutive wins now for just the second time all season. Despite this relative success, Fasth remains tremendously hard to trust for fantasy purposes, considering his hideous season numbers and the Oilers' general struggles.

Fasth is slated to start Tuesday's game against Washington, Bob Stauffer of 630 CHED reports.
Fasth notched a 3-2 win in his his last turn, Saturday against the Panthers, but with a 3-10-2 record, .891 save percentage and 3.34 GAA overall, he remains a speculative play while tending goal for the last-place Oilers.

Fasth could be in line to play more often for the Oilers in the future, according to the Edmonton Sun.
Ben Scrivens and Fasth have simply been awful in net for Edmonton this season as neither has a GAA below three or a save percentage better than .900. Throw in that Fasth hasn't won a game at home and Scrivens has yet to win on the road and you're starting to get the picture as to why the Oilers are in the position they are in.

Fasth was remarkable in Saturday's win over Florida, stopping 35 of 37 shots in regulation, before denying all three Panthers' shooters in the shootout.
It was the second consecutive solid outing for Fasth, who stopped 37 of 40 shots in a loss to Detroit last week. With Ben Scrivens struggling, having lost three straight games, Fasth could see some more starts in the near-future. While his 3-10-2 record, .891 save percentage, and 3.34 GAA is unappealing, Fasth is coming off two outstanding performances. It's the Oilers, though, so even if the 32-year-old does get some more time in the crease, wins will be hard to achieve.

Fasth will be in the crease for Saturday's game against the Panthers.
Fasth hasn't played in over a week, but was uncharacteristically dependable the last time his number was called back on Jan. 6, as he made 37 saves in a 4-2 loss to the Red Wings. No. 1 goalie Ben Scrivens has lost three straight starts while posting save percentages under .870, so if Fasth can at least keep the Oilers competitive Saturday, he may be able to parlay the outing into an increased role.

Fasth made 37 saves Tuesday against Detroit, but gave up three goals -- including Pavel Datsyuk's game-winner on a power play with just 34 seconds remaining -- and ended up with a 4-2 loss.
In fact, two of the Wings' three goals on Fasth came on the man advantage. This was a good start for Fasth, but it goes down in history as his 10th regulation loss in 14 starts this season.
