Travis Zajac, who sat for a fourth straight time on Tuesday with a sore Achilles tendon, said a return to the lineup Wednesday in Edmonton is a possibility. Zajac has one goal and two assists in eight appearances this campaign after returning from a torn Achilles tendon in mid-December.

Travis Zajac (Achilles) did not skate for the third day in a row. The good news is that according to Devils' GM Lou Lamoriello Zajac's sore Achilles tendon is actually feeling better. We expect Zajac to play in a couple of New Jersey's games next week. However, don't be surprised if his ice time is limited and he sits out the back end of back-to-back contests.

Travis Zajac (Achilles) won't play in Saturday's game. Zajac returned from a torn Achilles tendon on December 16th and played in eight games before the area became sore enough to shut him down. Zajac's setback is believed to be minor, but because of the Devils' packed schedule, Saturday will mark the third straight game that he's missed.

Travis Zajac (Achilles) wasn't on the ice Friday morning. That means Zajac also won't play in Friday's contest. It will be the second straight game he's missed due to soreness.

Travis Zajac (Achilles) hasn't been ruled out for Friday's game Zajac missed Wednesday's game and didn't practice on Thursday. Zajac returned from a torn Achilles tendon on December 16th and is resting the injury because it's sore.

Travis Zajac (Achilles) didn't take part in Thursday's practice. Zajac, who returned from a torn Achilles tendon on December 16th, has suffered what Devils coach Pete DeBoer classified as a "minor setback." Zajac didn't play on Wednesday because the area is sore and should be considered questionable for Friday's contest.

The Devils knew that Travis Zajac, who is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, might need some games off, as will be the case Wednesday. "I think we were mentally prepared and warned there were going to be some bumps in the road. It was obviously a real significant injury," Devils coach Pete DeBoer said. "He was coming back at kind of the front end of the time period they had allotted for it. I'm not concerned about it. Minor setback. We'll just keep moving forward." Zajac isn't expected to be 100% this season, so we expect him to continue to miss the occasional practice and game as the campaign progresses.

Travis Zajac will not play Wednesday against Boston as his Achilles tendon is a bit sore. Zajac will likely miss a few games here and there as he is not yet at 100 percent since returning from the severed tendon. Adjust your roster accordingly.

Travis Zajac registered an assist in Monday's 3-2 loss to Ottawa. Zajac now has a goal and three points in eight games since returning from a torn Achilles tendon. What's less encouraging is the fact that he got just 13:57 minutes of playing time. Zajac has been limited to third line minutes since returning, in part because he's been eased into the lineup and in part because rookie Adam Henrique seems to have pushed Zajac down in the depth charts. Zajac also isn't expected to fully recover from his injury this season, which is another thing for his fantasy owners to worry about. Even as a third liner, we could see Zajac averaging about a point every other game, but we recommend tempering your expectations when it comes to him.

Devils forward Travis Zajac received a day off from practice Sunday, but is fully expected to be in the lineup for the game in Ottawa Monday. "Our schedule is pretty loaded up this week, five games in seven or eight days (including Saturday's win over Pittsburgh)," coach Pete DeBoer said. "So, we'll take every opportunity to give him some rest." His recovery from Achilles tendon surgery will be an ongoing process, but it doesn't seem to be a major issue at this point.
