Travis Zajac (Achilles) will have to work on his conditioning for another month before he's ready to resume playing. Zajac won't even be ready to start skating again for another week. The good news is that his Achilles has fully healed and it's just a matter of building up strength. Zajac tore his Achilles tendon before the season began. He returned to the lineup on Dec. 16, but only lasted until Jan. 2 before he was sidelined with soreness.

Travis Zajac will have his Achilles examined in Winnipeg on Thursday. The New Jersey forward, who hails from Winnipeg, missed the first two-plus months of this season while recovering from surgery on an Achilles tendon. Zajac made his season debut on Dec. 16, but was again idled following a Jan. 2 game at Ottawa due to discomfort resulting from the procedure.

Travis Zajac (Achilles) will see a doctor in "the middle" of next week, according to Devils GM Lou Lamoriello. Zajac hasn't played since Jan. 2 due to soreness stemming from his surgically repaired tendon. Zajac isn't expected to resume exercising until he is re-evaluated by the doctor.
