Krug notched an assist in Thursday's 6-4 loss to Montreal.
With the Bruins' offense off to a sporadic start, the point was the first of the season for Krug, who missed the the first 11 days of training camp before re-signing with the team. That said, Krug, who was a plus-3 in the game, was skating well Thursday and with regular power play duty part of his job description, expect more consistent production from the mobile blueliner as the season progresses.

Krug made his preseason debut in Friday's 6-1 win over the Islanders, ESPN.com reports.
Though he missed the first 11 days of training camp, Krug looks good to go as the season approaches and he's on track to remain a key cog on both the Bruins' blue line and power play, after racking up 40 points in 79 games with the team in 2013-14.

The Bruins signed Krug to a one-year, $1.4 million deal Monday, USA Today reports.
The Bruins also signed fellow restricted free agent Reilly Smith to an identical contract, meaning they can just sneak under the salary cap now for one more season. Krug probably took less money than he's worth, and should be in line for a raise a year from now after being a fixture in the lineup this season.

Per the Boston Herald, there have no visible developments with regard to the contract situations of Krug and Reilly Smith.
With training camp underway, the duo remain unsigned, and though we'd expect both Krug and Smith to rejoin the Bruins' fold in time, such an outcome is not yet imminent. Meanwhile, Krug's absence paves the way for fellow smallish mobile David Warsofsky to see added opportunities in training camp.

GM Peter Chiarelli hopes to complete a new deal with Krug before training camp starts on Thursday, the Bruins' official site reports.
The same applies to fellow restricted free agent Reilly Smith, though given the Bruins' current salary cap situation, the team may need to make a deal in order engineer new deals with the duo. In any case, Krug -- who notched 40 points in 79 games last season -- remains in the team's long-term plans, and we'd expect him to be officially back in the fold before too long.

Boston will need to re-sign restricted free agent Torey Krug this summer.
The rookie blueliner led the Bruins in scoring during the playoffs with 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 12 games. He also enjoyed an impressive regular season, with a jaw-dropping 14 goals and 40 points in 79 contests. Krug will be seeking a big raise after his previous contract had an annual average value of $1,704,167. A "bridge" deal wouldn't be surprising in this situation, though.

Although the Canadiens have been excellent at blocking so many of the Bruins' shots, Torey Krug has had some success getting his shots through to Carey Price.
Krug has 24 shots on goal in the post season to date, second on the Bruins to Patrice Bergeron. "They [the Canadiens' players] do a very good job of blocking shots," Krug said. "I think those quick decisions really help. When you're not standing there thinking about what you're going to do with the puck and you already know what you're going to do with it, it helps big time." Krug has a goal and two assists in the second round against Montreal and has been one of Boston's top playoff perfomers to date. He makes a great middle-round pick next season.

Torey Krug is crediting his success in these playoffs with his experience last spring.
He has accounted for two goals and five assists in seven games during the 2014 postseason and he has 13 points in 22 appearances in his young career. "There's ups and downs within a series and throughout a game, you noticed it last year playing against Chicago," Krug said. "The momentum shifts within a series were pretty amazing. For me, I personally understand moving forward from each series it's going to be like that. You witnessed it (Saturday in Game 2 of this year's second-round series). Montreal comes into our building, wins Game 1 and then Game 2 we come back late. Those are big momentum shifts. I learned about that for sure."
