It's safe to assume that barring injury, Tatar will blow past that total to set a career-best mark in scoring, an encouraging development as the Red Wings look for him to shoulder more of the offensive burden with Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk now in their mid-30s.

Despite his recent troubles, Tatar remains on pace to obliterate last year's 39-point output. He's on pace to clear 50 points easily.
