Tatar collected a pair of assists Sunday in a 4-3 win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Even with the two apples, Tatar has just 10 points in 26 games this year, which is tough to stomach for a guy that averages over 17 minutes of ice time in a top-six role. Tatar recorded 101 points over the last two seasons, as well, leavings owners scratching their heads with his decreased production in 2016-17.

Tatar had a forgettable November, pitching in only two goals and three assists against a minus-5 rating in 13 games.
EDGE Analysis
Despite averaging a career-high 17:20 of ice time, Tatar has been anything but saucy for the injury-depleted Red Wings this campaign. The guy owns a 12.4 shooting percentage over five seasons and counting, but he's misfired on 48 shots so far, putting his conversion rate on attempts at 5.9, which would only be an acceptable rate for a defenseman. Worse yet, the Czech has only registered one power-play tally -- an assist -- and his numbers aren't likely to improve until the team gets healthy again and coach Jeff Blashill is able to give him the same linemates for a sustained period of time. Most recently, Tatar has worked with captain Henrik Zetterberg and Anthony Mantha on the top line, but Tatar has been held pointless in the last four games.

Tatar collected a pair of primary assists in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit has lost its past four games, but Tatar shouldn't have to shoulder much of the blame. He has three helpers over that span and is consistently attacking the net with 11 shots on goal. However, if we had our druthers, it would be that the Czech skater has just one power-play point -- an assist -- despite averaging 3:15 in that special teams spot this season.

Tatar assisted on a third-period goal and registered two shots on net during Wednesday's game against Philadelphia.
EDGE Analysis
Tatar's offensive production has fallen off the map to start 2016-17, as the 25-year-old winger has just three points -- one goal -- through the first 11 games of the year. He's also coming off a disappointing season where his numbers dropped from 29 goals and 56 points during the 2014-15 campaign to just 21 goals and 45 points last year. Tatar is in the heart of his offensive prime, though, so expect his scoring to pick up going forward.

Tatar scored his first goal of the season during Friday's win over Nashville.
EDGE Analysis
After registering five shots in each of his previous two games, Tatar was finally able to crack the goal column Friday. He's up to a goal, an assist and 12 shots with an average of 3:43 power-play time over his past three games and appears set to bounce-back following a lackluster 45-point showing last year. As long as Tatar maintains a high-shot volume, he'll produce offensively, so it's encouraging to see him putting more pucks on net of late.

Tatar picked up an assist Monday in a 5-1 home win over the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Tatar has seen his ice time steadily climb in two games since the Oct. 13 opener against the Lightning. This is a curious trend, however, as the Slovak had gone minus-4 in the first two contests. With so much talent up front, it's going to be important for Tatar to tighten up his defense and catch fire offensively. Even though he came up empty, his five shots on goal Monday prove that he's trying to assert himself, at least in the attacking zone.

Tatar scored a pair of goals, including the overtime winner, in Sunday's semi-final game against Team Sweden.
EDGE Analysis
Tatar picked a fantastic time to get going in the tournament. The Red Wings forward had been quiet in the opening three games of the World Cup, but exploded Sunday, striking twice and firing five shots on goal. Now that the 25-year-old has gotten going, look for the 21-goal-scorer in the NHL to be a key player in the final series between Canada and Europe.

Per Tom Mitsos of MLive.com, Tatar struggled on the power play in 2015-16, having experienced a significant drop in individual Corsi, an advanced hockey statistic that factors in a sum of shots plus shot attempts that were either blocked or missed the net.
EDGE Analysis
Tatar's offensive numbers dipped across the board. For one, his individual Corsi per 60 minutes of play took a nose dive from 25.38 in 2014-15 to 13.28 this past season. He also had two less goals on the man advantage in the regular season, finishing with seven. Detroit is making sweeping changes behind the bench to better support coach Jeff Blashill, who'll embark on his second season with the Wings in 2016-17. One of the team's goals is to improve a power-play unit that produced just one goal in 25 power-play chances during the conference quarterfinals against the Lightning, contributing heavily to a quick departure from the playoffs. Better coaching could set up Tatar for a bounce-back year, so keep him in mind as a potential sleeper in fantasy drafts.

Tatar is dealing with a shoulder injury and will undergo an MRI, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tatar's shoulder issue didn't hold him out of game action, but it's possible it did impact his play down the stretch. With a whole offseason ahead of him, it's unlikely the injury will cost him time dating into next year's regular season unless it turns out to be something serious. The team should update his status again when the results of the MRI return, hopefully providing a better timetable for recovery.

Tatar collected an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 Game 1 loss to Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Tatar had a decent series last season against Tampa Bay and is off to a good start again. Tatar regressed back to 45 points this season after recording 56 in 2014-15, but still has the potential to score a lot in a hurry.
