Tatar collected a power-play assist in Sunday's 3-2 home loss to the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Hot Sauce ranks second on the Red Wings with 11 power-play points, with that special teams total comprised of eight goals and three assists. Unfortunately for Tatar's fantasy owners, his team is only converting on 18.5 of its man-advantage opportunities (22nd in the NHL), and that lowers his fantasy ceiling quite a bit in conjunction with the fact that he's not even a half-point-per-game player at the moment.

Tatar scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in a 6-5 overtime victory over the Capitals on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
The last two months haven't been too kind for Tatar, who came into Sunday with two goals and six points in the last 20 games. But that streak came to a screeching halt, as Tatar scored the final two goals of the day for the Red Wings. His game-winner came about halfway through the overtime session. Perhaps this will get Tatar going; he needs six more goals for his fourth straight 20-goal campaign.

Tatar came up empty on his only shot in regulation against the Sharks on Wednesday night, but he had a jaw-dropping shootout tally against Martin Jones on the way to a 2-1 win at home.
EDGE Analysis
Tatar was the 11th shooter in a skills competition that lasted 14 rounds. Entering the game six for 23 in such a situation, Hot Sauce used his slick hands to completely fool Martin Jones near the top of the crease and wound up lifting the puck top shelf. While this was an exciting moment for fans of the Winged Wheel, fantasy owners simply needed more from him in regulation. The Czech forward has provided 21 points (12 goals, nine assists) through 49 games this season.

Tatar's current shooting percentage of 11 percent is a career low, as he's converted 12 goals on 109 shots this season.
EDGE Analysis
There definitely are fantasy settings where his 12 goals -- including seven tallies on the man advantage -- are useful, but this qualifies as a small step back for the skater who led the Wings with 25 goals last year. Still, a bit more puck luck could easily vault Tatar back into the virtual spotlight, and fantasy owners won't want to miss out whenever Hot Sauce finds himself clicking on all cylinders in Motown.

Tatar missed practice for an unspecified reason Saturday, but Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said the winger is expected to suit up for Sunday evening's home game against the Lightning, MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
If Tatar was dealing with a serious injury, chances are it would've been leaked by now. This is mere speculation, but it sounds like Hot Sauce took a maintenance day away from the ice Saturday. Detroit will need all the help it can get against the Lightning given that the Bolts have defeated the Wings in nine consecutive regular-season games. Tatar is one of the few forwards in the league who has more goals (11) than assists (seven), but it's that sniping ability that the Wings really need to display in the next contest against the league's second-best defense.

Tatar closed out the calendar year with an even-strength assist in Monday's 4-1 win over the visiting Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
Tatar's been one of the streakiest players, and he's only managed one multi-point effort this season. The Red Wings likely expected more when they signed him to a four-year, $21.2 million contract extension in July, but at least he snagged double digits in goals (10) before the new year; only Gustav Nyquist and Anthony Mantha (undisclosed) scored more for the Wings in the first half of the campaign.

Tatar delivered a power-play goal -- his 10th of the season -- in Detroit's 3-1 home win over the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Hot Sauce is a stealthy goal scorer for a Wings team that arguably contains too many players of his ilk. Nonetheless, he's on pace to record 25 goals for the second straight season -- last year, that was good enough for the team lead. Tatar's way behind in the assist column, though, as he's only set up five goals after notching 20-plus in four consecutive campaigns. He's capable of catching fire on short notice, but predicting when Tatar will strike is usually a humbling exercise.

Tatar scored the game-winning goal and recorded three shots and a plus-2 rating during Friday's 3-1 victory over Buffalo.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a tough start to the season for Tatar, as this was just his fifth goal and eighth point of the campaign. However, he has shown a little more offense of late with two tallies, an assist and 13 shots through his past five contests. Additionally, the 26-year-old winger is on pace for his fourth consecutive 20-goal campaign. While Tatar is probably still best viewed as a fringe fantasy asset in the majority of settings, he's definitely someone to keep tabs on.

Tatar delivered a secondary assist Saturday, but the Red Wings lost to the Blue Jackets in the shootout, 2-1.
EDGE Analysis
"Hot Sauce" only has seven points and a minus-3 rating through 18 games this season, and with four goals over that span, he's well off his 25-goal pace that counted as a team high in the 2016-17 campaign. A weak shooting percentage of 9.1 is squashing Tatar's fantasy prospects, plus he's only brought one power-play point to the table, despite averaging 2:08 in that spot this year. His lackluster performance is particularly disappointing since he played hard to get over the summer before finally renewing his contract for four years and $21.2 million. Simply put, Tatar needs to step up for the Wings and fantasy owners alike.

Tatar extended his pointless streak to four games Saturday, failing to add a goal or an assist in a 3-2 shootout win over the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Hot Sauce basically needs the Windex treatment for his streaky play, but you'll want to consider streaming him once he starts picking up the pace offensively. Tatar had a three-game point streak going near the middle of the month against a trio of very tough opponents -- we're talking Tampa Bay, Toronto and Washington, respectively -- but he seemingly disappears just as easily. This guy led the team in goals with 25 last season, so perhaps it'll all even out over the course of the season; that's at least what Wings fans hope will happen.
