Detroit right winger Tomas Holmstrom scored two goals to spearhead a 5-3 victory over the visiting Calgary Flames Wednesday night. Both of Holmstrom's goals came on power plays for the Red Wings. Ian White, who returned Wednesday night after missing four games on Detroit's blueline because of a fractured cheek, collected a goal and two assists for the winners. Ditto for Pavel Datsyuk. Datsyuk and Valtteri Filppula scored 1:14 apart late in the third period to break a tie and give the Wings the win. Nicklas Lidstrom and Jiri Hudler also recorded multi-point games with two assists each.

Tomas Holmstrom played a season-high 15:32 minutes in Tuesday's 5-2 victory over Colorado. Holmstrom started the season on the fourth line, but with Todd Bertuzzi (flu) sidelined, Holmstrom has been playing a larger role.
