Mason allowed four goals on eight shots in the first 6:46 of Saturday's game against the Panthers. Unfortunately, that set a modern NHL record for the fastest four goals to start a season.
EDGE Analysis
So much for having a great record against Florida. Mason was off his game from puck drop -- he couldn't smother rebounds, was slow on the glove side and then pretty much handed the puck to the Panthers on the fourth goal. He was replaced by Michal Neuvirth.

Mason will start in goal Saturday against the Panthers, Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mason experienced an overtime loss against the Lightning in the season opener Thursday, yielding three goals on 32 shots. However, he has fared well against the Panthers throughout his career, as evidenced by a 1.48 GAA and .953 save percentage in 10 games. This makes him a fine value play, particularly in daily leagues.

Mason stopped 29 of 32 shots in Thursday's season-opening overtime loss to the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Mason was the first victim of 3-on-3 overtime, as he made a couple spectacular saves before Jason Garrison finally beat him with a nifty move on a breakaway 2:17 into what turned out to be quite a wild extra period. It's a tough break for Mason, but he can hang his hat on the strong effort. Health permitting, Mason will likely be in the net for the vast majority of Flyers games this year.

Mason will start in net Thursday for the Flyers' opener against the Lightning, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Mason remains the leading netminder for Philadelphia heading into 2015-16, and considering Michal Neuvirth remains sidelined with a lower-body injury, it seemed inevitable that he would start. Regardless of Neuvirth's health, Mason is expected to see most of the starts in net this season, looking to improve on a solid 2.25 GAA and .928 save percentage from 2014-15.

Mason swatted away 29 shots and still allowed the Ranger to pot three goals in Tuesday's 5-3 win.
EDGE Analysis
That's a touch above Mason's 2.25 GAA from last season. With the Flyers' defensive pairings still uncertain, Mason remains a middle-tier goalie in most draft formats.

Mason stopped 19 of 22 shots in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Senators.
Mason was uncharacteristically sloppy in the finale, allowing a pair of soft goals to aid a Senators squad that already had plenty of motivation with a playoff spot hanging in the balance. Though he's finish the season with a decidedly mediocre 18-18-11 record, Mason's 2.25 GAA and .928 save percentage illustrate that he was better than a league-average twinetender. With a little more support from his mates next season, Mason's winning percentage might reflect his abilities.

Mason will be between the pipes for Saturday's season finale against the Senators, Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post reports.
With the Senators needing a victory to earn a spot in the postseason, Mason will attempt to play spoiler, just as he's done against playoff-contending teams in the Islanders and Penguins his last two times out. With a 2.23 GAA, .928 save percentage, and a 18-17-11 record that has been boosted by his ongoing three-game winning streak, Mason might be the Flyers' MVP this season, more than validating the team's decision to give him a three-year, $12.3 million extension last January. He's worth rolling in the season finale.

Mason gave up four goals on 40 shots Tuesday, but held on for a 5-4 win over the Islanders.
Considering the barrage of shots he faced, it's hard to fault Mason for giving up four, especially when he came away with the win -- his third in a row. He's also on a run of five straight games with a .900 save percentage or better, so Mason's looked strong end to end (when healthy) despite playing behind a poor Flyers team.

Mason will be in the crease for Tuesday's game against the Islanders, NHL.com's Bill Meltzer reports.
Though the Flyers are long past removed from playoff contention, Mason's hot finish to the season couldn't come at a better time for his fantasy owners. He's allowed only five combined goals over his last four starts, winning three of those contests and taking a shootout loss in the other. Coach Craig Berube still plans on giving backup goalie Ray Emery a turn in one of the Flyers' final two games of the season, leaving just one more outing on tap for Mason after Tuesday.

Mason turned aside 46 of 47 shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Penguins.
It was an outstanding performance by Mason, as the 46 saves matched a season-high. His mates were outshot 47-20 on the game, including a 22-4 advantage for the Penguins in the first period, but the Flyers were still able to come away with a comfortable three-goal win thanks to the 26-year-old. Mason improved his GAA and save percentage to 2.19 and .929 respectively with Sunday's effort, and figures to be a reliable option in the team's final few games.
