Darling will tend the twine against the Canucks on Friday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darling has been downright terrible in his previous six outings -- he registered a 1-4-0 record and 3.94 GAA in those contests -- which led to Cam Ward taking back the starting job in Carolina. The 28-year-old Darling gets a chance to restart his season by facing a Vancouver squad that is netting just 2.60 goals per game. By giving the first game of the Canes' back-to-back to the Virginia native, coach Bill Peters can suit up Ward for Saturday's clash with Colorado.

Darling allowed four goals on 38 shots during Friday's 4-1 loss to Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
While it's difficult to throw to much shade Darling's way for Friday's outcome, his disappointing campaign continued. Carolina allowed 13 high-danger scoring chances, and Detroit scored on three shots from prime real estate. Still, Darling's poor play has been a season-long drag on the Hurricanes and fantasy owners, as he now sports a disastrous .892 save percentage and 3.06 GAA for the year. Start him at your own risk.

Darling will tend the twine Friday against the Red Wings, Michael Smith of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darling last started between the pipes Jan. 21 against the Knights, surrendering three goals on eight shots and seven goals between each of his last two starts. He will attempt to get back on track Friday, squaring off against a Red Wings club totaling just 2.53 goals per contest this season (28th in NHL).

Darling allowed three goals on eight shots over just 12:59 before giving way to Cam Ward during a 5-1 loss to the Golden Knights on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
In a rare start, Darling disappointed, as he failed to get out of the first period. He played well a couple weeks ago against the Capitals, but in his two starts since then, Darling has stopped just 31 of 38 shots (.816). But this is hardly his only rough night -- he came into Sunday with a .895 save percentage and GAA approaching 3.00. Owners can't currently trust the Hurricanes backup netminder.

Darling will man the crease for Sunday's game against Vegas, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darling has certainly not lived up to expectations so far in his first season with Carolina, posting career worsts in GAA (2.94) and save percentage (.895) in 28 appearances. A matchup against the Golden Knights likely won't turn things around. It would be best to avoid Darling in all formats.

Darling allowed four goals on 30 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Flames on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
This performance greatly disappoints owners hoping Darling turned the corner by yielding just a goal to the first-place Capitals on Thursday. But even including that contest, Darling owns a .867 save percentage and a 4.30 GAA in the last five games. With this slump, Darling's save percentage has dropped below .900 and his GAA is approaching 3.00 for the season. Clearly, things aren't going as Darling owners hoped with the Hurricanes.

Darling will start Sunday against the Flames, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darling only has two appearances since the calendar flip, and it's the tale of two nights. In one matchup, he was lit up for five goals on 28 shots, but in his next start, he allowed just one goal on 28 shots for the win. The Flames have won six straight, and they've scored four or more goals in four of those matchups. The Canes have at least three goals in each of their last three games, so they should provide enough offensive support if Darling is up to the task.

Darling saved 27 of 28 shots during Thursday's 3-1 win over the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
This was Darling's first win since Dec. 16, as the prized offseason acquisition has struggled to meet expectations to this point of the season. However, Cam Ward hasn't exactly been a brick wall, and a statement win over Washington could prove to be a kick-starter for a better second half from Darling. Still, at this stage of the game, it's probably best to keep expectations in check and continue to be selective with Darling's matchups for the immediate future.

Darling will defend the net Thursday against the Capitals in the nation's capital, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Bill Peters left the door open for back-to-back starts for Darling, but it would require a much better showing than the five goals he let in against the Bruins in his last outing. It's been a rather rough year for him in his first season with the Hurricanes, posting just an 8-11-6 record with a 2.97 GAA and .893 save percentage. He will attempt to stymie a Washington attack that has averaged four goals during three January contests.

Darling stopped 26 of 29 shots in Saturday's loss to the Blues.
EDGE Analysis
While he came away with the loss, Darling rebounded nicely after giving up eight goals in his last start. The 29-year-old falls to 8-11-6 on the season with a .896 save percentage. He made some quality saves against the Blues, but Darling has managed just one win in his last eight appearances and doesn't make for a great fantasy option in most formats.
