Darling permitted three goals on 32 shots from the Red Wings on Saturday, not including the shootout winner to Frans Nielsen in the 4-3 home loss.
EDGE Analysis
Darling was in cruise control for most of the game, but Anthony Mantha put the puck behind him twice in the third period to force overtime, and Carolina's top netminder was done in by Frans Nielsen -- the NHL's all-time shootout leader -- in the skills competition. By no means was this a poor performance from Darling; check out the highlight reel for his amazing save on Mantha in overtime, but counterpart Jonathan Bernier made 49 saves at the other end and simply outdueled him in Raleigh.

Darling will start in goal Saturday, fielding shots from the visiting Red Wings, Kurt Dusterberg of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darling stood tall against his former employer in the Blackhawks on Thursday, as he set aside 35 of 38 shots for a season high in saves. He's only drawn into three games since overcoming a lower-body injury, but his confidence should be high after that last start and it's also worth noting that Detroit reportedly will counter with Jonathan Bernier, who's only crafted one win in five games as a first-year Red Wing.

Darling made 35 saves in Thursday's 4-3 win against Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Making just his third start of the season after missing time with a lower-body injury, Darling performed admirably on Thursday. He did, however, give up three straight goals, after his team had staked him to a 4-0 lead. That notwithstanding, Darling should be happy with the win and will now shift his focus to Saturday's game versus the Red Wings.

Darling will patrol the blue paint on the road against Chicago on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Darling will be making just his third start of the season after missing most of the first month of the campaign due to injury. In his previous two matchups with his former club, the netminder went 1-0-1 with a disappointing .889 save percentage. The 29-year-old probably shouldn't be banking on a ton of offensive support, considering the Canes are averaging a mere 2.60 goals (fourth lowest in the league).

Darling conceded three goals while making 22 saves during Saturday's 3-0 loss to Vegas.
EDGE Analysis
Darling got the start for the second day of Carolina's back-to-back and fell to 0-2-0 on the season. Darling didn't get much offensive support as the Hurricanes were shut out by Las Vegas. Darling has allowed six goals in his two starts this year.

Darling will start Saturday's road tilt in Vegas, according to the Hurricanes' official twitter.
EDGE Analysis
Darling will get the second leg of his team's back-to-back after Petr Mrazek presided over Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to Arizona. A lower-body injury delayed Darling's start to the campaign and he allowed three goals in a loss to Boston in his Oct. 30 season debut, yet he's still in the running to assume No. 1 netminder duties in Carolina. A strong showing against a Golden Knights team that's off to a 5-7-1 start would go a long way in helping to lock up that role.

Darling allowed three goals on 31 shots in his season debut against the Bruins on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
A lower-body injury kept Darling out for the first few weeks of the season. Darling was a great backup during three seasons with the Blackhawks, but his first season with the Hurricanes was rough, as he went 13-21-7 with a .888 save percentage and 3.18 GAA. He should have more help in 2018-19, but that didn't matter much Tuesday. The Hurricanes outshot the Bruins, 44-31, and still Darling took the loss.

Darling, who had been dealing with a lower-body injury, will make his season debut Tuesday night against the visiting Bruins, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darling was available as the backup to Petr Mrazek against the Islanders on Sunday, but Mrazek logged a full game to afford Darling even more time to heal. The 29-year-old backstop will field shots from a Bruins team that ranks seventh on the power play (28.1 percent) and 15th by means of averaging 3.09 goals per contest.

Darling (lower body) will back up Petr Mrazek on Sunday against the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Darling is expected to take over the starting role for Carolina when fully available, but he's apparently not quite there yet as he continues to regain his form after recouping from a lower-body injury.

Darling (lower body) will backup Petr Mrazek against the Sharks on Friday, Kurt Dusterberg of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Darling -- who spent one game in the minors on a conditioning assignment -- would seem to be on track to start versus the Islanders on Sunday, although no official announcement has come from the team. The 29-year-old had a disappointing first season as a starter last year, posting a 13-21-7 record with a career-worst 3.18 GAA. No doubt the Virginia native is eager to get 2018-19 off to a better start now that he is healthy.
