Ellis recorded his third point in the past five games with an assist during Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
Now at 25 points on the season, Ellis has been slowly inching his way to a new career high following the 27 points he put up in each of the previous two seasons. Ellis may still be a third-tier defenseman for fantasy purposes, but he's nothing if not consistent. Keep him active in any medium to deeper formats.

Ellis broke a five-game pointless drought with an assist during Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis still doesn't crack the scoresheet often, but he's now up to 22 points in 53 games, and looks to be a lock to surpass the career-high 27 points he posted in each of the past two seasons. For now, he continues to form a nice tandem with Mattias Ekholm on the Preds' second blue line pairing, and offers decent fantasy value in medium to deeper formats.

Ellis recorded his 20th point of the year against the Blackhawks on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis has gone relatively unnoticed given the numbers being put up by fellow blueliners Roman Josi and Shea Weber. The 24-year-old has tallied five points in his last 10 contests while averaging over 20 minutes of ice time per night. Facing Winnipeg on Thursday, the defenseman will hope to continue building on a solid offensive season.

Ellis chipped in with an assist and four shots on goal in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blues.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis has now recorded points in three of his last four games and is up to 16 to go with a plus-10 rating in 36 games this season. He's been firing the puck more lately as well, piling up 19 SOG in his last eight games. Ellis is an integral part of one of the league's best group of blueliners behind studs Shea Weber and Roman Josi, so he could provide sneaky value in shallower leagues if you're looking for help on the back end. For comparison's sake, the 2009 first-round pick is on pace for 36 points, so Ellis looks poised to best his career high of 27 set in each of the last two seasons.

Ellis recorded two assists and five shots on goal in Saturday's loss to the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis has only scored twice this season, but he's up to 13 points in 29 games. The 24-year-old is sporting a solid plus-7 rating and is averaging 19:47 of ice time. Shea Weber and Roman Josi man the points on the first power-play unit, but Ellis is a great second-unit quarterback and a reliable fantasy option in deeper formats.

Ellis posted an assist in Saturday's 5-4 OT loss to the Red Wings. It was just his 11th point of the season and second in the last 10 games.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis tends to score in bunches, as he has three multi-point nights so far this year, accounting for seven of his 11 points. What that means for fantasy owners is putting up with a lot of zero-point efforts waiting for Ellis to light it up. The good news is, if you stick with him for a full season, he still has a good chance at eclipsing the 27 points he scored in each of the last two seasons - but again, you've got to be patient.

Ellis has been held off the scoresheet in five of his past six games, and has just two assists over that span.
EDGE Analysis
Despite his current slump, Ellis still has seven points in 14 games so far this season, which puts him on pace for roughly a 40-point campaign. He continues to skate roughly 19-20 minutes per game on the Preds' third defensive pairing with Mattias Ekholm, and he also mans the point on the second power-play unit where he sees about two minutes per game. All told, Ellis makes for a decent fantasy defenseman option in medium to deeper formats.

Making his return after one game out of the lineup with a leg injury, Ellis scored his first goal of the year and added two assists in a win over Anaheim.
EDGE Analysis
One of those helpers came on the power play. Ellis started the season slow, with just a lonely assist in five games, but one big game can do a lot for the look of your numbers at this point in the season. The question is whether Ellis will be able to keep it going and build on last season's improvement in scoring rate.

Ellis (leg) will return to the lineup for Thursday's game against the Ducks, Adam Vingan of The Tennessean reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis was expected to rejoin the lineup Thursday after returning to practice Wednesday, and that's indeed the case. He'll likely return to his pairing alongside Mattias Ekholm.
