Ellis went minus-1 with four shots on goal and a pair of penalty minutes in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Avalanche.
EDGE Analysis
With P.K. Subban (upper body) and Roman Josi (undisclosed) both sidelined with injuries, Ellis has been the top dog on the Preds' blue line lately, averaging roughly 24 minutes of ice time per night. That said, with just 15 points in 35 games, Ellis has not seen much of a bump in his scoring this season and is on pace for another 30-35 point campaign, similar to last year's 32-point effort. Now with Subban's return looming on the horizon, it will be interesting to see how Ellis' minutes and production are impacted going forward. Either way, we don't see much reason to own him outside of deeper fantasy formats right now.

Ellis scored a goal on three shots and went minus-2 in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Wild.
EDGE Analysis
In only his second game back after an eight-game absence due to an upper-body ailment, he got one past Devan Dubnyk -- no easy feat this year. The missed time has hurt him, but Ellis is still averaging nearly a point every other game, putting him on pace to surpass last season's career-best 32 points.

Ellis (upper body) was activated off injured reserve Tuesday and is expected to return to action against St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
If Ellis suits up, it would be his first game back after an eight outing absence. On the year, the blueliner has been relatively ineffective offensively, excluding a three point night Nov. 21. Based on practice, the 25-year-old will pair up with Roman Josi on the blue line.

Despite a recent report that he'd been upgraded to day-to-day, Ellis (upper body) remains on injured reserve, per Adam Vingan of The Tennessean.
EDGE Analysis
The defenseman reportedly missed practice Friday, though he was able to make it through most of the session in the previous day, when it appeared as though he was officially day-to-day. At any rate, the Predators have seven healthy defensemen on the active roster, affording Ellis ample time to recover. He'll be checked out again ahead of Saturday's home game against the Devils.

Ellis (upper body) has been upgraded to day-to-day.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis had been placed on injured reserve last weekend in order to clear a roster spot for defenseman Michael Liambas. However, Ellis -- who already has a pair of game-winners to his name this season -- evidently is making progress ahead of Saturday's home contest against the Devils.

Ellis (upper body) has been placed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.
EDGE Analysis
Ellis' injury wasn't expected to be serious, as he had carried a day-to-day label before missing Friday's game against the Jets, but now the savvy rearguard, who had put up three assists and 15 PIM against the Bolts on Nov. 21, will not be eligible to return until Dec. 3.

Ellis is day-to-day with an upper-body injury and won't play Friday against the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
It's a big loss for the Predators and fantasy owners alike, as Ellis has been heating up lately, having tallied six points (three goals, three assists) in his last eight games. With Ellis out Friday, Anthony Bitetto will slot into the Predators' lineup for the first time since the team's season opener.

Ellis collected three assists -- one on the power play -- and received 15 PIM during Monday's win over the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
With a career high of just 35 PIM, the 15 minutes were a nice bonus for Ellis' fantasy owners Monday. He's a solid secondary scorer for Nashville, but he doesn't boast much game-to-game consistency. Still, Ellis is a solid option to round out your blue line in deeper fantasy settings because of his cross-category production. He's up to a respectable nine points, 27 shots, 25 hits and 37 blocked shots through 18 games this year.

Ellis scored a goal on his only shot in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Despite an almost three-minute bump in ice time from last year and consistent power-play action, Ellis has done little on the offensive end over Nashville's first 12 games -- he has only four points and 17 shots on net, well off last season's paces. Ellis has talent aplenty, but the Preds have looked a bit discombobulated in the early going, and he's been no exception.

Ellis has a pair of assists and a minus-3 rating through six games this season.
EDGE Analysis
It's been somewhat of a sluggish start for Ellis, who recorded a career-high 32 points last season. Given his current pace, he's currently on track for 25-30 points, so if that's what you pegged him for when you drafted him, you shouldn't be disappointed. However, he's also seeing more ice time than he did last year (23:11 vs. 20:54), so the potential is there for him to surpass last year's totals. For now, he continues to skate on the Preds' second defensive pairing with Mattias Ekholm.
