Ruslan Fedotenko scored, but the New York Rangers dropped Game 4 of the Eastern Conference final 4-1 to the New Jersey Devils on Monday night.
The veteran's goal was his first of the postseason and just his fifth playoff point. Though the third-period marker gave the Rangers a little bit of hope, New York was still down 3-1 at that point and was unable to make the game any closer. Brad Richards and Michael Del Zotto had the assists. Mike Rupp had 14 penalty minutes, while Stu Bickel finished with 12. Over their last 11 playoff games, the Rangers have not won consecutively and as a result, this series is tied at two with Game 5 at Madison Swuare Garden on Wednesday night.

Ruslan Fedotenko is the Rangers' secret weapon.
He is 6-0 in Game Sevens during the playoffs in his career. We doubt that had anything to do with New York's 2-1 victory over Washington in Game Seven Saturday night, but for the superstitious, it may be a factor.

The New York Rangers are tied 2-2 with the Ottawa Senators in their best-of-seven series and veteran Ruslan Fedotenko says it's because his team isn't playing very well.
"I feel like we need to focus on what we can control and what we can control is how we play," said the left winger, a two-time Stanley Cup winner. "To be honest, we are not playing our best hockey. It's not sitting back, but we're playing a little differently in the third period with a lead," Fedotenko added. "Guys realize how important it is, there's so much on the line. They start playing a little more conservative, they go into a defensive mode. We definitely need to address that. We will be addressing it."

Ruslan Fedotenko actually missed Friday's practice due to the flu, not a leg injury.
Fedotenko appeared to hurt his leg during Thursday's game, but that apparently isn't why he skipped Friday's practice. He should still be considered day-to-day.
