Budaj allowed three goals on 25 shots but still came away the winner in a 4-3 shootout victory over the visiting Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
The Kings' crease is in absolute disarray right now, as stud starter Jonathan Quick and regular backup Jeff Zatkoff are both out with groin injuries. That leaves Budaj and Jack Campbell, who were slated at the beginning of the season to be the goaltending tandem at AHL Ontario, as the current options between the pipes for Los Angeles. Despite winning his first two starts, Budaj has been far from great in allowing six goals on just 45 shots, so Campbell could be making his second career NHL start sooner rather than later.

Budaj will make the start in net Saturday against the Canucks.
EDGE Analysis
With Jeff Zatkoff sitting with a lower-body injury, Budaj gets the nod for his second start on the NHL season. The 29-year-old netminder recorded his first victory of the new campaign against Dallas on Thursday, putting away 17 of 20 shot attempts.

Budaj stopped 17 of 20 shots in an overtime win over Dallas on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj wasn't great but didn't face a lot of rubber in his first start of the season and figures to get a chance to grab the reigns as the Kings look for some consistency from their netminders following the injury to Jonathan Quick. Thursday's win was the first of the year for LA so expect Budaj to get the next start as the Kings look to gain some momentum after a sluggish start.

Budaj will make his first start of the season Thursday against the Stars, Sean Shapiro of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj made just one appearance for the Kings last season and gets the starting nod after coming on in relief of Jeff Zatkoff on Tuesday. While with AHL Ontario for the 2015-16 campaign, Budaj posted a career best 1.75 GAA on his way to a 42-14-4 record. Unfortunately for Los Angeles, they are effectively stuck with two veteran backups until Jonathan Quick (groin) returns.

Budaj replaced a struggling Jeff Zatkoff in the third period of Tuesday's game against the Wild. He set aside all nine shots he faced in the 6-3 loss.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj has 10 years of NHL experience, which undoubtedly was a factor for the Kings when they recalled him from AHL Ontario last Thursday in the wake of news that starting netminder Jonathan Quick sustained a lower-body injury and will miss 3-to-4 months. Zatkoff is winless in three appearances, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Budaj get an extended look, perhaps as soon as Thursday against the Stars.

Budaj was officially recalled by the Kings on Thursday, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Jonathan Quick being placed on injured reserve (lower body) Thursday, the Kings needed a replacement goalie and Budaj got the call up. The 34-year-old spent the majority of the 2015-16 campaign with AHL Ontario, posting an impressive 1.75 GAA and .932 save percentage on his way to a 42-14-4 season. He figures to back up Jeff Zatkoff until Quick returns from his injury.

Budaj was placed on waivers Monday in order to reassign him to the minors, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
By waiving Budaj, the Kings have confirmed new signing Jeff Zatkoff will be the back up to Jonathan Quick for the upcoming season. Along with Budaj, Los Angeles also waived fellow netminder Jack Campbell as well as Vincent Loverde and Andrew Crescenzi. If unclaimed, all four players will report to AHL Ontario for their training camp.

Budaj signed a one-year extension Wednesday to remain in the Kings organization through 2016-17.
EDGE Analysis
The 33-year-old netminder spent nearly all of this season as the starting netminder for the team's AHL Ontario affiliate, compiling a 30-1-3 record witha .934 save percentage, 1.60 GAA and eight shutouts. Even if he cracks the NHL ranks again at some point (one game this season), it's unlikely he'll see a large enough portion of starts to make him a viable fantasy candidate.

Budaj was sent back down to AHL Ontario on Wednesday, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Now that Jonathan Quick has returned from his injury, Budaj will return to the AHL after his emergency recall. He did make one start, a victory over the Rangers, while with the NHL team and will return to Ontario where he's posted sensational numbers. Budaj is a dependable backup when called upon, but will only come up with an injury.

Budaj allowed four goals on 28 shots but came away the winner as the Kings downed the Rangers 5-4 in overtime.
EDGE Analysis
Budaj certainly wasn't great in his first NHL appearance since 2013-14, but a win is a win. He's not likely to hang around too long with the Kings and will probably be sent back down to AHL Ontario when Jonathan Quick (lower body) returns, but he's worth monitoring given his unbelievable AHL numbers this season (26-9-3, 1.58 GAA and .935 save percentage).
