Datsyuk's owners couldn't be happier with how he's played since returning from injury, as he has five goals and five assists in six games. He appears fully healthy, showing off his usual mastery of the puck on Sunday.

Datsyuk extended his goal-streak to three games Friday, netting two goals and an assist in a win over Los Angeles.
There might not be a hotter player in the NHL right now. After missing time early in the season with a shoulder injury, Datsyuk has recorded at least a point in his first five games, tallying four goals and four assists. As long as he remains healthy, Datsyuk is among the league's best.

Datsyuk collected a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Capitals.
After starting the season in the press box with a shoulder injury, Datsyuk has proven why he's still one of the league's premier centers. He now has two goals and three assists in four games, and has been on the score sheet in each contest.

Now that's Datsyukian -- he has a point in each of his first three games this season. Get him onto your active roster, particularly if you held him out this week.

Datsyuk notched an assist in his season debut Tuesday versus the Canadiens.
Datsyuk hooked up with longtime co-star Henrik Zetterberg for the Red Wings' only goal of the night. The 36-year-old was otherwise a non-factor in his 18:05 of ice time Tuesday, failing to register a single shot attempt, hit or block. His activity should pick up as he becomes further removed from the shoulder injury that resulted in his missing the first five games of the season.

Datsyuk (shoulder) will play in Tuesday's game against the Canadiens, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Datsyuk was not expected to return until the upcoming weekend, but he will take the ice a little earlier than expected after making it through Tuesday's morning skate without issue. He skated on the Red Wings' top line with Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader on Tuesday morning, so he should play a prominent role for the Red Wings right out of the gate.

Datsyuk (shoulder) could play Tuesday against the Canadiens, Chuck Pleiness of Macomb Daily reports.
Datsyuk was targeting October 25 for a return, but it sounds like he's a safe bet to be back in the lineup Tuesday at this point. The star center practiced on his usual line Monday, and even took his usual place on the top power play unit. Keep an eye out for a confirmation update before Tuesday's game, but Datsyuk's return should be imminent.

Datsyuk (shoulder) isn't expected to return to game action until next weekend, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
It appears the Red Wings are targeting Oct. 25 for Datsyuk's return, which would result in a total of seven missed games for the star forward. Datsyuk is still awaiting clearance for contact from Red Wings team doctors, but once that happens, he'll likely only need a few practices to get back up to full speed. Health has been a major stumbling block for the 36-year-old the last few seasons, but few forwards can match Datsyuk's per-game scoring production when he's in the lineup.

Datsyuk (shoulder) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Bruins, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
Datsyuk said over the weekend that his shoulder is feeling better, but apparently he is still too sore to play. It remains to be seen how much more action he will miss beyond Wednesday's game, but he was originally expected to miss 4-to-5 weeks after injuring his shoulder Sept. 22.

Datsyuk (shoulder) says he's feeling better but still hasn't been cleared for contact, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.
It was going to be a stretch for Datsyuk to get back for the first week of the season, as his three-week original timetable wasn't going to get him back in time to start the season. The Wings don't want to rush back the 36-year-old, so until he's practiced for a day or two, don't expect him in the lineup.
