Datsyuk was unable to participate in Tuesday's morning skate, so he will be replaced in the lineup by Dan Cleary on Tuesday night. It remains to be seen if he will be able to play in either of the two games remaining on the Red Wings' current road trip that ends Saturday.

It seems highly probable that the Red Wings will hold Datsyuk for the second straight game Sunday, with the team instead turning its focus to having him ready for action Nov. 14 against the Blackhawks. Datsyuk has already missed time with a shoulder injury this season, but has otherwise been magnificent in the eight games in which he's suited up, producing five goals and five assists.

Datsyuk (groin) is unlikely to play in Sunday's game, especially with a five-day break after the matchup with the Lightning, the Detroit Free Press reports. With the tendency for groin injuries to linger and with Datsyuk getting up in years, it would be unlikely for the Red Wings to risk his health Sunday. He should return for Friday's game with the Blackhawks barring a setback.

Datsyuk's injury wasn't reported earlier in the day as the team was likely waiting to see if he could go. It appears the injury is serious enough to keep him out Friday, and could leave his status for Sunday's game against the Lightning in question as well. The team should update his status in the next couple days, but he should be considered day-to-day unless something indicates otherwise.
