The move by coach Dave Tippett was largely to set a fire under his squad, which it did, as the Coyotes would end up losing by a goal, 4-3. We all knew Smith would eventually start to look like the goalie from last season. If he can find some sort of middle ground, he'll still be playable, so long as the Coyotes continue to win games.
