Hoffman assisted on the power play during Sunday's 2-0 win against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
With Ottawa's offense struggling, Hoffman has become one of the more frustrating fantasy players this season. The 27-year-old was thought to be headed for a breakout campaign with familiar face Guy Boucher taking over the reins as the head coach for Ottawa, but it simply hasn't come to fruition. While he's still been decent -- four goals and eight helpers in 20 outings -- the winger will have to string together a few productive stretches if he wants to reach 60 points for the first time in his career. Hoffman starting to trend in the right direction by reaching the box score in three of the last four, showcasing his potential to be a consistent threat.

Hoffman returned from an undisclosed injury to rack up a power-play goal as well as a pair of assists in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
Like many Senators, Hoffman got off to a snail-like start, netting just seven points in his first 16 games (and zero in five coming into Tuesday), but he and fellow winger Mark Stone clicked with center Derick Brassard in this one, forming a lethal trio. Considering what Hoffman's done for fantasy owners in the past -- that is, 29 goals and 59 points last year -- there should be high expectations for him to turn things around this season. That .070 shooting percentage is due for positive regression as long as he keeps shooting steadily, which hasn't been a problem thus far.

Hoffman (undisclosed) appears ready to slot back into the lineup against Montreal on Tuesday, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman has missed the last two outings due to injury but looks ready to go. Prior to getting hurt, the 26-year-old was stuck in a five-game pointless streak that included a minus-5 rating. The winger's offensive struggles certainly aren't due to a lack of opportunities as he is averaging over 17 minutes of ice time per night during this drought, including 2:37 with the man advantage.

Hoffman (undisclosed) is "less than likely" to play Saturday's game against the Panthers according to coach Guy Boucher.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman will most likely miss his second straight game Saturday, but we will provide an update prior to puck drop if indeed he does suit up. Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Zack Smith stand to see more ice time during Hoffman's extended absence.

Hoffman is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman isn't expected to be sidelined for long, but this news effectively rules the winger out of Thursday's matchup with the Predators. It's been a disappointing start to the season for the 6-foot-1 forward, as he's only tallied seven points (three goals, four assists) in 16 games after having racked up 59 points in 78 games in 2015-16. Owners hoping to slot Hoffman into their daily lineups can check back for another update on his status ahead of Saturday's game against the Panthers.

Hoffman lit the lamp with the man advantage Saturday, but it wasn't enough as the Senators lost to the Sabres at home, 2-1.
EDGE Analysis
This was the second straight game for which Hoffman's provided the only goal for the Senators, but his team actually won the contest against the Canucks on Thursday. Hoffman can put up points in a hurry -- he's up to three goals and four assists in 11 games this season -- but the lack of support from his teammates will make it difficult for the 26-year-old to avoid the dreaded cold spell.

Hoffman was the only player on either side to find twine Thursday against Vancouver, with his unassisted second-period goal holding up for a 1-0 win.
EDGE Analysis
After Canucks defenseman Erik Gudbranson committed a giveaway, goalie Jacob Markstrom tried to play the loose puck, but it was Hoffman who corralled it and put it into the open net. After a slow start to the season, he's now recorded a point in three of the last four games -- and with the Sens shorthanded thanks to Mark Stone's (neck) absence, they felt comfortable enough with Hoffman to give him a whopping 22:12 of ice time, second only to Kyle Turris among forwards.

Hoffman lit the lamp on four shots during Sunday's 2-0 victory against Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Surprisingly, Hoffman's first goal of the year didn't come until the eighth game of the season. The 26-year-old has suffered from a slow start in 2016-17, recording only four assists coming into Sunday (three in one contest). The winger has 56 goals in total over his last two campaigns, which should ease owners' worries. Hoffman is a potent scorer, and now that he's over the hump, expect him to find twine more often.

Hoffman has yet to light the lamp in four games to date (three assists), but the winger is confident that it's only a matter of time before the scoring ensues, Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen reports. "I'm just trying to keep a level head, I know the goals are going to come. You don't want to hit the panic button too early. I feel like I'm getting a lot of shots, a lot of chances every game."
EDGE Analysis
Hoffman isn't far off last season's pace, as the winger amassed one goal and three assists through four games. The 26-year-old is right about his chances, though, firing toward net 20 times to date. It truly is only a matter of time before the winger lights the lamp to open the floodgates. Hoffman has 27 and 29 goals, respectively, the past two seasons and remains a key cog in Ottawa's top six. It's far too early to hit the panic button and when Hoffman finally breaks through the barrier, you'll want him in your lineup -- don't get cute.

Hoffman snapped his season-opening skid in emphatic fashion with three assists -- one on the power play -- and eight shots on goal in Tuesday's win over Arizona.
EDGE Analysis
He'd been quite active on the ice, but hadn't gotten in on the Sens' goal-scoring party early on; that changed in a big way Tuesday even though none of his shots made it through. Having racked up 48 and then 59 points in the last two seasons, Hoffman's established himself as one of Ottawa's most valuable offensive contributors, so there should be plenty more to come -- including goals, which he's overdue to collect some of after firing 20 shots without hitting the back of the net so far.
