Michal Neuvirth (bruised foot) might start in one of the Capitals' upcoming two road games. Washington will play in Edmonton on Thursday and Vancouver on October 29th. Neuvirth took part in Friday's practice. "He was out there full time. I've gotta believe he'll be ready to play in a game next week on the trip," said Coach Bruce Boudreau. "I doubt if he'll back up tomorrow - he may." While Neuvirth has been recovering from his foot injury, Vokoun has been establishing himself as the Capitals' top goaltender. Vokoun has a 1.96 GAA and .939 save percentage in five starts this season.

Michal Neuvirth (lower body) hasn't been on the ice for three straight days. "He's getting better from all accounts," Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau said. "He should be on the ice (Saturday) for practice. I don't know if he's going to be backing up (Saturday night) but we expect him to be on the ice practicing." The Capitals have sent Braden Holtby to AHL Hershey, but it would be possible for him to play in Hershey's game on Friday and still serve as the Capitals' backup on Saturday. Stay tuned.

Michal Neuvirth did not travel to Pittsburgh for Thursday's game because of a lower-body injury. Coach Bruce Boudreau said that Neuvirth is listed as day-to-day, but the netminder's condition has not gotten worse. "Our take is if he's not ready to back up in case he's needed, there's no sense," said the Washington bench boss. We'll see [Friday] and hopefully he'll be on the ice with us [Friday]."
