What a tough-luck loss for Neuvirth, who looked like a stud against the powerful Kings. He has allowed just a single goal in each of his last three starts. Neuvirth's line on the season hasn't been great and his save percentage is well below .900. But if the last three games are any indication, he's heating up at exactly the right time. More games may be in store.

The Habs didn't give him a whole lot of trouble in general, and they particularly didn't elevate their game when they were trailing in the third period. That's depressing for their fans, but it's great news for Neuvirth, who's now delivered two consecutive wins against ostensibly tough Canadian opponents. He may be starting to carve some playing time away from the highly inconsistent Steve Mason.

The former second-round pick has struggled mightily in 2016-17, just one year after grappling with Steve Mason for Philadelphia's starting job. That said, since returning from injury Jan. 7, Neuvirth has found success at home, going 3-1-0 with a 1.95 GAA and .935 save percentage. While Neuvirth will be the home netminder Thursday, Montreal is the seventh-leading goal scoring team in the league and will be getting near point-per-game player Alex Galchenyuk back into their lineup for the game.

Neuvirth made 27 saves and allowed just a single goal in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Leafs.

EDGE Analysis

Other than William Nylander getting one through him in the second period, Neuvirth was a brick wall. He's been inconsistent since coming back from a long absence due to a knee injury, but this game could be a real sign that the Czech netminder is rounding back into form. He'll get a nice little rest now with the All-Star break starting Friday.

Despite a 6-4-0 record to this point, Neuvirth has not been a solid option at goalie this season as his .877 save percentage and 3.38 GAA will attest to. The 28-year-old Czech national was able to get wins while the Flyers' offense was hot early in the season, but as the offense has started to taper, so too has Neuvirth's win count. He'll face a hot Maple Leafs offense Thursday that is averaging 3.73 goals per game in January.

Neuvirth (undisclosed) is in the lineup and will be the backup goalie to Steve Mason for Sunday's game against the Islanders.

Neuvirth was pulled for precautionary reasons on Saturday night, but it never seemed as though he was in danger of missing time due to injury. He's not a viable goalie in the majority of fantasy leagues.
