Maxime Talbot reportedly won't return to Finland to resume playing with Ilves Tampere and will head back to North America. However, he is interested in going back overseas if the remainder of the NHL season is canceled. Tabot had three goals and three helpers in 12 outings with Ilves prior to playing for Fribourg-Gotteron in the Spengler Cup.

Maxime Talbot found the back of the net in Ilves Tampere's 3-2 loss to SaiPa. He has recorded six points in 11 outings with his SM-liiga club. He'll play for Fribourg-Gotteron at the Spengler Cup later this month. Talbot's lockout teammate and Boston forward Daniel Paille finished the game with an assist.

Maxime Talbot scored in his debut with Ilves Tampere on Tuesday. His Finnish club dropped a 5-3 decision to Jussi Jokinen's Karpat team though. Jokinen had a goal in the match, while Jason Demers had an assist on the winning side as well. Talbot logged 20:31 of ice time in the contest after seeing nearly 16 minutes of average ice time in Philadelphia last year.

"It's nice to get emotions like that." Talbot also helped organize a nine-game charity hockey tour during the lockout. He's still optimistic that there will be an NHL season and noted that things could move quickly if there's a breakthrough on the main issues.

Maxime Talbot will have his No. 25 sweater raised to the rafters by his former QMJHL squad, the Gatineau Olympiques, before a game against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Oct. 26 at the Robert Guertin Centre. He played for the Olympiques organization from 2000-04 after arriving from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Talbot should be in attendance for the contest, especially if the lockout continues. He has kept busy during the work stoppage with his Tournee des Joueurs exhibition series in Quebec.
