Maxime Talbot is still adjusting to his new surroundings.
"I've always been in the East, so I'm still learning players in this conference, what their tendencies are and things like that," Talbot said. "But I will do that. I'm confident I will keep adjusting better." He has no points, eight shots and a minus-2 rating in seven games with the Avalanche since being traded by Philadelphia.

Maxime Talbot left Thursday's game temporarily after being knocked into the boards face first by the New York Rangers' Benoit Pouliot.
Talbot needed to undergo testing in an attempt to determine if he had a concussion, but fortunately the results were good. He needed some work on his nose, but that didn't keep him from returning to finish Philadelphia's 2-1 win. "When you feel you're fine to come back, you come back," Talbot said. As for Pouliot, he probably won't end up getting suspended. Even Flyers coach Craig Berube called it an "more of an accident than anything."

Maxime Talbot was the only Philadelphia Flyers player to score a goal in a 2-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes on Friday.
This was Talbot's first goal and point of the 2013-14 season. He seemed due, as he fired five SOG in his last game. He eclipsed 18 minutes of ice time the past two games, so he might become more fantasy relevant, especially with key injuries Friday. Zac Rinaldo and Sean Couturier collected the assists.

Maxime Talbot has a broken bone in his leg.
The Flyers haven't provided a timetable for Talbot's return other than to say he's out indefinitely. Still, with roughly four weeks left in the season, it would be surprising to see him play again in this campaign. He has 10 points and 23 penalty minutes in 35 games this season.

Maxime Talbot has gotten off to a sluggish start offensively this season.
He has no goals and two assists in nine games so far. In 2011-12, Talbot set career highs with 19 goals and 34 points in 81 contests with the Flyers, but he isn't overly concerned with his current lack of touch around the net. "I don't think I'm here to score goals," he said. "That's not my role as a player. It's something that last year, obviously it was good to score. But that's not my priority. My priority is to play solid every night, and the goals will come." He skated on the fourth line at practice Monday alongside Ruslan Fedotenko and Zac Rinaldo.
