Matt Read sustained an upper body injury during Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh. Read exited the contest following the first period and won't return. He has seven goals and 13 points in 18 games this season.

Matt Read was moved to a line with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek during Monday's blowout win over the Islanders. The trio exploded for 10 combined points, including three goals, in Philadelphia's 7-0 victory. Read and Voracek have been fairly consistent producers for the Flyers all season, so it makes perfect sense to place them on the same line as Giroux.

Matt Read continues to lead the Flyers in goal scoring and in overall points. The surprising second-year NHLer has scored four goals and registered eight points in 11 games. Read is also responsibly in the defensive zone and quietly has become a significant fantasy asset.

Matt Read apparently enjoys playing the Florida Panthers. He scored his fourth goal in two games against the Cats this season in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss. Read's other three markers of the year all came on Jan. 26 versus the Panthers. He has eight points in 11 games. Jakub Voracek scored Philadelphia's other goal, on the power play, in the defeat.

Matt Read had a hat trick as the Flyers routed the Panthers on Saturday night 7-1. After scoring 24 times last year, Read found the twine for the first time in a big way in this win. Wayne Simmonds also had a goal, while Ruslan Fedotenko, Tye McGinn, who potted his first NHL goal, and Luke Schenn all scored and assisted. Braden Coburn and Claude Giroux also had two assists apiece.

Matt Read registered two assists in Sodertalje's 4-3 shootout loss to Oskarshamn. He has 23 points, including 18 assists, in 19 games this season. Read is finishing up his final week of play in Sweden and then he'll return to North America. If the lockout continues then he's expected to return to Europe.

Matt Read will reportedly return to North America for personal reasons, but he plans to return to Sodertalje if the lockout continues past Christmas. Read joined the Allsvenskan club, which plays out of Sweden's second division, in October. He has produced 21 points in 18 games, which currently places him second on the team in scoring.

Matt Read scored in Sodertalje's 4-1 win over Almtuna. In 16 games, the Philadelphia forward has potted five goals and 20 points.

Matt Read missed Tuesday's game against Orebro after taking a puck off his foot at practice. His Sodertalje teammates managed to hold the fort without him and injured New York Rangers forward Carl Hagelin (shoulder) in a 3-2 victory. The translated piece is a little rough around the edges, but it sounds like Read was held out as a precaution. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Matt Read accounted for a goal and a helper in a 3-1 Sodertalje triumph versus Bofors in HockeyAllsvenskan play on Thursday. He raised his point total to 14 in the 10 games he has played with the second division Swedish club.
