Duchene has already been ruled out of Tuesday's game against the Kings, but it's definitely encouraging to see him back on the ice Tuesday -- albeit in a limited capacity -- after sustaining a concussion in Friday's matchup with the Jets. The star forward will need to be cleared for contact before returning to game action, but Colorado should provide another update on his status ahead of Thursday's game against the Stars either way.

Duchene did not skate with the team Monday which led coach Jared Bednar to rule him out against the Kings on Tuesday. It will be the second game in which the center has been sidelined with his next chance to return Thursday versus Dallas. Duchene was forced out of the most recent game after logging 14:09 of ice time. We won't jump to conclusions, but it seems highly unlikely that the star will be ready to go in Sunday's home contest with the Bruins. After all, concussions can be tricky to evaluate and are quite variable from one person to the next. Look for the Avs to make a priority out of reevaluating Duchene.

Dutchy has been on fire over his last eight games with 10 points -- six of them goals -- and 22 shots on net, making him easily the most valuable fantasy producer on the Avalanche thus far this season.
