Duchene has been officially traded to Ottawa on Sunday, Elliotte Friedman reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a groundbreaking deal for Ottawa who's clearly trying to build upon their Eastern Conference Finals trip from last year, and a hot 6-3-5 record to begin this season. There's no questioning Duchene's explosive speed and offensive skill, but he's never had teammates on his line to compliment his offensive game since he posted an impressive 70 points in 71 games back in the 2013-14 season. Duchene should immediately slot into Ottawa's top-six forward core and see power-play time, and with scoring wingers like Mike Hoffman and Mark Stone that could surround him, the 27-year-old will have a great opportunity to firmly bounce back from his poor 41-point effort from last season.

Duchene scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-4 shootout win over the Flyers on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
The multi-point game comes a day after a trade to the Senators fell through. Duchene has 10 points (four goals, six assists) in 13 games this season and that's good enough for fourth on the Avs. But it's clear he'll soon be plying his trade somewhere else and his value will go up. Check the wire and see if you can put in a claim now before a change of scenery really helps him.

Duchene was almost dealt to the Senators in a three-team trade that fell through Friday, theScore.com reports. Ottawa center Kyle Turris was expected to go to Nashville and several draft picks and prospects were also believed to have been included in the rumored blockbuster.
EDGE Analysis
Duchene has been on the trade block since last season, but the 26-year-old center's play hasn't helped his value in the market, and Colorado clearly isn't interested in moving him at a discount. With three goals and eight points through 12 games this season, the third overall selection from the 2009 draft is off to a decent start this year, and there is no doubting Duchene's upside. However, fitting his $6 million salary under the cap has likely complicated negotiations.

Duchene failed to register a point and recorded a minus-2 rating through 14:35 of ice time during Thursday's 5-3 win over Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
Duchene has now gone goalless in each of his past six contests, and he has just two assists and five shots while logging 16:45 of ice time (1:48 on the power play) during that stretch. His strong start has faded quickly, and the off-ice distractions surrounding his status within the organization are likely to continue clouding over his season and potentially hinder his fantasy upside. While there is plenty of offensive potential, Duchene's virtual stock is probably at a career low right now.

Duchene scored the Avs' only goal in a 3-1 loss to the Stars on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
The guy who hates Mile High is off to a hot start with six points (three goals, three assists) in as many games. The Avs will be working behind the scenes to try to convince this frustrated pivot that he should stay in town. As it stands, Duchene will likely be an Av until February's deadline.

Duchene had a goal and an assist in Thursday's season opener against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Duchene has been the subject of trade rumors for quite some time now, so it was good to see him tune that out and produce in the first game of the season. There's no denying the fact that he'll likely be moved in the near-future, but that doesn't mean he can't be a quality fantasy producer while he remains in Colorado. Duchene is just two years removed from a 30-goal season and is capable of being an electrifying offensive producer when he's at his best.

Duchene will report to training camp while the team continues to look for a trade partner, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
It shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that Duchene is looking for a way out of the Mile High City after the club's disastrous 2016-17 season. The Avs are likely in full rebuild mode and the 26-year-old clearly wants to be on a winner. Where he ends up will be the subject of speculation through the rest of camp -- as will the return on investment Colorado can get for a player of his caliber.

Duchene is expected to be in training camp for Colorado amid ongoing rumors that he could be traded, The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
The prolific scoring winger surprisingly made it through the expansion draft, regular entry draft, and a July 1 free-agency signing bonanza without moving on from the lowly Avalanche. While he still has two years and $12 million left on a five-year contract, many hockey pundits thought he'd be long gone by now. Regardless of his destination, Duchene's focus will be improving upon a lackluster 2016-17 campaign in which he posted 41 points -- his lowest since an abbreviated 2011-12 season -- and a career-worst minus-34 rating.

Duchene ended his nine-game goal drought with a goal and two assists Tuesday against Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
He also finished with five shots on goal, the fifth time he's done so this season. Duchene needed a big game in a bad way, having been mired in the worst slump of his professional career and managed just eight shots in the seven games prior to Tuesday's outburst. He's on pace to finish with the worst offensive numbers of his career, but will at least make it five straight 40-point seasons. It's been a very disappointing season overall for Duchene and the Avs.

Duchene is mired in an 11-game scoring slump.
EDGE Analysis
He's minus-11 in the same span. Duchene's forgettable season continues. He appears to be simply playing out the season for the statistically awful Avs. Duchene's minus-28 is perilously close to the number of points he has on the year (36). Yikes. The bench is the only place for him.
