Methot is not expected to be available against the Islanders on Friday due to a lower-body injury, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
While Methot isn't exactly known as an offensive powerhouse -- his career high point total is 23 -- fantasy owners will no doubt be concerned about his lack of a single point through the first 15 games of the season. In addition to his scoring drought, the 32-year-old is logging less than 20 minutes per game (19:22), which is well below what you would expect out of an elite shutdown defender.

Methot finished Saturday's win over Colorado with one shot and a plus-1 rating.
EDGE Analysis
Through five games with his new team, Methot has no points and just three shots. His contributions to fantasy rosters has been minimal. Though, he has provided owners with nine blocked shots and a team-leading 15 hits. In most formats, you may get more production from another player.

Methot was traded by Vegas to the Stars on Monday in exchange for goaltender Dylan Ferguson and a second round draft pick in 2020.
EDGE Analysis
The former Senator was a Golden Knight for less than a week, as he's now taking his talents down to Texas to provide a stabilizing presence to the Stars' blue line. It's a bitter pill to swallow for Sens fans after Methot capably served as superstar Erik Karlsson's linemate for the better part of five years, but such is life when it comes to the expansion draft. Ferguson was recently selected 194th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

The Golden Knights have already started soliciting trade offers for Methot, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Well, that didn't take long. The 32-year-old blueliner was plucked from the Senators on Thursday as Vegas' selection in the expansion draft despite Ottawa's last-ditch attempts at working out a deal to keep him. Garrioch also reported, via the Ottawa Citizen, that the alleged asking price by Knights GM George McPhee to refrain from selecting Methot was a 2018 first-round pick, which was too rich for the Sens' taste. At any rate, time will tell whether Methot is flipped to another club (he has a 10-team no-trade clause) this summer, or if he'll suit up as Vegas' de facto top rearguard this October.

Methot apparently has been taken by the Golden Knights, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Methot figures to headline Vegas' defensive core as its premier shut down defenseman. In terms of fantasy value, owners probably shouldn't expect much more production than the 12 points he put up last season, but fans in Ottawa will be lamenting his loss for a while. The 32-year-old averaged 2:04 of ice time shorthanded and will probably assume a similar role for new coach Gerard Gallant.

Methot was not protected by the Senators and will be exposed to the upcoming expansion draft, theScore reports.
EDGE Analysis
Although the veteran failed to score a goal last season, this comes as a bit of a surprise based on his status as one of the better defensive blueliners in the game. That said, it's likely that the team would prefer to protect Methot but simply isn't able to since fellow defensemanDion Phaneuf didn't agree to waive his no-movement clause. Regardless of where Methot plays this fall, it isn't likely to cause much of a stir from a fantasy standpoint, but Senators fans will likely be keeping their fingers crossed that he remains in Ottawa.

Methot registered a goal, an assist, three shots and four hits with a plus-4 rating during Wednesday's Game 3 win over Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
Methot doubled his point total with Wednesday's outing, and his goal was a deflected shot that Marc-Andre Fleury kicked into his own net. The two-point outing shouldn't be confused with a sign of things to come. Methot hasn't topped 12 points in any of the past three regular seasons, after all.

Methot scored the team's second goal in a 6-5 double-overtime victory over the Rangers in Game 2 on Saturday. He also dished out five hits and blocked three shots.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran rearguard hadn't lit the lamp since way back in the 2015-16 season, so his goal-scoring contribution was certainly appreciated by the Sens in their comeback victory. Methot wasn't able to hit the scoresheet in the five games against Boston in Round 1, but he now has points in back-to-back games against the Rangers and has amassed 33 hits and 12 blocked shots in seven postseason contests. With that in mind, the 31-year-old might be worth taking a peek at in daily formats given his production in the peripheral categories.

Methot (hand) was paired with Erik Karlsson in warmups and will play Saturday against Boston, Bruce Garrioch of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Methot has missed ten games so far, but he will be ready to be in the top defensive rotation for a critical Game 2 on Saturday. He had an all around stellar defensive season, recording 12 assists, 164 hits, and a plus-13 rating in 68 games. In leagues that value a true defensive presence, the 31-year-old blueliner does the trick.

Methot (hand) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's matchup with Boston, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Methot has been sidelined for Ottawa's last 10 contests as he continues to recover from a hand injury. According to Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia, it will be a matter of whether the defenseman is able to shoot the puck. If the 31-year-old is unable to give it a go for Game 2, Fredrik Claesson figures to continue filling in on the Sens' blue line.
