Methot has notched two assists, a plus-6 rating, 24 hits and 17 shots on goal in 10 games so far this season.
EDGE Analysis
Unless your name is Erik Karlsson, blueliners for Ottawa are off to a slow start -- companions Cody Ceci and Dion Phaneuf also have just two points to their name. Methot has never been a consistent threat to score -- career-high six goals -- but still has the occasional assist and a few punishing hits. The 31-year-old is a great asset for the Senators, as he is an excellent stay-at-home defender that compliments Karlsson well. However, it doesn't translate to useful fantasy output, thus leaving him on the waiver wire in most formats.

Methot did the little things during Wednesday's 5-4 overtime win against Toronto, registering a plus-2 rating, four blocked shots and six hits.
EDGE Analysis
Methot is almost allergic to the box score, but in leagues that reward stepping infront of shots and laying the opponent out, the blueliner rewarded owners on Opening Night. The 31-year-old has the privilege of skating next to superstar Erik Karlsson, but based off past performances, that hasn't equated to much fantasy output.

Methot (illness) is out of the lineup Thursday against Florida, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
EDGE Analysis
Methot will sit out his third consecutive contest and remains questionable for the season finale Saturday. With nothing on the line for Ottawa, there is no reason for the blueliner to rush back other than simply wanting to play one more game before the offseason. In terms of fantasy value, the 30-year-old offers very little as he has tallied a meager 12 points and 34 PIM in 69 contests this year.

Methot (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Tuesday's matchup with the Penguins, Ian Mendes of TSN 1200 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Methot came down with the flu Saturday and now appears to be banged up. After Tuesday's contest with the Penguins, the Sens have just two games remaining, with the blueliner's next opportunity to play being Thursday against the Panthers. Ben Harpur has been recalled from AHL Binghamton as a result of the 30-year-old's ailment.

Methot is dealing with the flu and it will prevent him from suiting up Saturday afternoon against the Flyers, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Senators won't have to dig in their minor-league system for a replacement Saturday, as fellow defenseman Mike Kostka reportedly is set to return from an undisclosed issue. Methot, a rugged shutdown man, should be considered day-to-day with his next chance to suit up for a game coming Tuesday.

Methot has been skating on the second pair as of late with Dion Phaneuf (lower body) having been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Fredrik Claesson has moved up to the first pair.
EDGE Analysis
Methot has seen slightly less ice time over his last three outings when compared to his season average of 20:39 -- 19:05 in that span. The blueliner also has a minus-4 rating in that period, failing to reach the scoresheet as well. Needless to say, the combination of skating next to Cody Ceci instead of Erik Karlsson, and already being a stay-at-home defender, it's tough to envision the 30-year-old producing numbers down the stretch. The 2003 sixth-round pick has just 12 points on the year and was most likely already off your radar.

Methot scored a goal to go along with a plus-4 rating and three hits in Saturday's 5-0 win over Montreal.
EDGE Analysis
Methot has now found twine in three games in March after only registering two on the year coming into the month. The 30-year-old has never surpassed six markers in a season, but the blueliner has a shot in his 10th campaign. Skating next to Erik Karlsson on the first pair, anything is possible.

Methot recorded an apple, a plus-2 rating and three hits in Saturday's 4-0 win against Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Methot was able to notch assist No. 7 on the season, the blueliner's first in his last eight outings. The 30-year-old is a stay-at-home defender, which doesn't necessarily scream fantasy contributor. Methot has suffered from long droughts this year and should remain on waivers despite having three points in March -- the most he's had in a month this season.

Methot scored the lowly goal in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Methot averages over 20 minutes of ice time, but unfortunately only has nine points on the year to show for it. The 30-year-old defenseman hadn't found twine since Dec. 6, but he hasn't necessarily been a scorer in his career -- six goals is the former sixth-round pick's high in a season. Methot is a key cog in Ottawa's defense, but can be safely ignored in almost all formats.

Methot (undisclosed) will suit up against the Oilers on Thursday, Bruce Garrioch of Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Methot has missed the Senators last six matchups dating back to mid-January. The blueliner sees plenty of ice time, averaging 20:46, but has logged a mere two scores and four assists. Currently in the midst of a 18 game goalless streak, the 30-year-old has added a lone helper over that span and is unlikely to explode offensively.
