Loui Eriksson is looking forward to getting a chance to play with the Boston Bruins. "I'm really looking forward to playing in Boston," Eriksson said. "It's a real good team and for the last couple years they've been one of the best teams in the league. So I'm real excited to go there and play. Everything happened real fast with the trade, but I'm real excited and I'm really looking forward to it. It will be awesome to come here and play. I'm going to try to give it my best and try to help them win the Cup." Eriksson has spent his entire career to this point with the Dallas Stars and he hasn't been in the playoffs since 2008. That slump should break next season.

The Boston Bruins will likely use Loui Eriksson on the right side next season. The left-handed wing spent most of his time at left wing in Dallas, but the Bruins are thin on the right following an off-season flurry of changes. Nathan Horton and Jaromir Jagr are expected to leave for unrestricted free agency, while Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley were traded to Dallas as part of the seven-player swap which landed Eriksson in Boston. For now, he is being projected to play alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand because of his defensive awareness.

Loui Eriksson has been traded to the Boston Bruins in a massive seven-player trade. Along with Eriksson the Bruins got prospects Joe Morrow Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser and in return Dallas receives Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley and Ryan Button. Eriksson recorded only 12 goals and 29 points in 48 games during the lockout-shortened season, but in his previous three campaigns he has surpassed the 70-point mark. He should slot in nicely on David Krejci's line, as Nathan Horton's replacement, or alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand.

TSN's Darren Dreger is reporting that Dallas and Boston are talking about a monster trade which could see Loui Eriksson head to the Bruins and Tyler Seguin go to the Stars. He said "other parts involved as well" and the deal could be close to happening. Stay tuned to see how this develops.

Twenty years later, the Stars will return to the Fort Worth Convention Center to host their four-day training camp, which will go from Sept. 11-14. The Stars were last here in their first season in Dallas, 1993. President Jim Lites is the same person who brought the Stars to Fort Worth in his first tenure as team president, and with the team rebranding now, he'll do it again. "We said, "Where are we going to run training camp in the new world order?'" Lites said. "I said, let's think about Fort Worth, and next thing I know we've got a deal cut with the Convention Center and Mayor [Betsy] Price is throwing her weight behind us, businesses there are supporting us and wanting to get involved with us, and we're wanting to get involved with them."

Loui Eriksson had two goals and an assist in Sweden's 3-0 victory over Finland in the IIHF World Championship semifinals. Henrik Sedin had a goal and two assists. Henrik's twin brother, Daniel, assisted on both of Eriksson's goals. Jhonas Enroth turned aside 30 shots to earn the shutout. Sweden will now participate in the gold medal game while Finland still has a shot at the bronze medal.

The Stars hope that Loui Eriksson will get a lift from being reunited with Jamie Benn on the team's top line. "It's a chance for Loui to get up there and get his mojo going," coach Glen Gulutzan said. "We've got guys who have worked hard, and I've seen it time and time again that people who put in the effort will get rewarded. Loui is going to be one of those guys." He moved up to the top unit after Alex Chiasson was injured in Monday's contest. Eriksson has one goal and two assists in his last five matches.

Loui Eriksson generated some offense in a relatively quiet night for the Stars, registering five shots on goal in the 4-0 loss to Nashville on Tuesday. Eriksson has been decent in what was supposed to be a potential breakout year for the 27 year-old winger. He has seven goals and 16 points 24 games played, about on par with his average production over the past three seasons. He's a large part of the Starts offense, so continue placing him in your lineups.

Loui Eriksson has not had a shot on goal in five of his 12 games thus far. That is a concern as he only had six shot-less games all last season as he played in the full 82 game schedule. He has only three shots on goal in his last five games but does have four goals and seven points this season. "It's a little bit frustrating," Eriksson said of the start. "That's something you have to work through."
