Kyle Quincey didn't participate in Monday's practice due to a sore groin. "We just decided to play it safe," Quincey said of the decision to stay off the ice Monday. Quincey tweaked his groin during Saturday's contest. He won't play on Tuesday.

Kyle Quincey will play against his former Colorado Avalanche teammates on Saturday. Quincey was dealt four days ago from Colorado via Tampa Bay, to the Red Wings. He scored in his first game with Detroit and solidifies the Red Wings blueline. He now has six goals and 24 points with 64 penalty minutes and an even plus/minus which should improve in Detroit. He is worth grabbing in deeper pools.

Kyle Quincey apologized after saying that he knows players who are jealous that they haven't been traded yet. Colorado traded Quincey to Tampa Bay and then immediately sent to the Detroit Red Wings. It sounded like Quincey was suggesting that there's plenty of Avalanche players that want out of Colorado, but he said that wasn't what he was implying. "The last thing I wanted to do was throw Colorado under the bus, an organization that was great to me, and I loved Colorado," Quincey said. "I shouldn't have said what I said and I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out like that. It wasn't meant to be 'Colorado-specific.' I was talking about the trade deadline in general and it came out wrong. I don't want any of the teammates I went to war with in Colorado to think I don't think and wish anything but for the best for them."

Kyle Quincey, who Detroit acquired on Tuesday, shouldn't have too much trouble getting settled with the Red Wings. Detroit originally drafted Quincey in 2003 and he was a Black Ace, which is an extra player on the roster during the playoffs, with the Red Wings during their 2008 Stanley Cup run. However, Quincey only 13 games with Detroit before he was lost on waivers in 2008. He has since established himself as a solid and well rounded blueliner. "It's exciting coming back home to where I was drafted and knowing pretty much every single one of those guys on the team," Quincey said. His plus/minus rating should improve thanks to the trade, but he might end up with less playing time with the man advantage.

Kyle Quincey was dealt to Tampa Bay Tuesday in exchange for Steve Downie. After missing the bulk of 2010-11 with a shoulder injury, Quincey has rebounded this season and was 5-18-23 in 54 games with the Avs. He will be a restricted this summer.

The Avalanche will most likely deal one of their eight NHL caliber defensemen by or before the trade deadline and Kyle Quincey and Shane O'Brien are the most likeliest candidates. O'Brien will be a UFA come July and Quincey, who is already earning over $3 million per season, will be an RFA and will be in line for a raise the Avs' may not be willing to pay. Stay tuned.

Kyle Quincey recorded a game-high five shots on goal in Colorado's 1-0 loss to Minnesota. Quincey also spent two minutes in the sin bin. Chuck Kobasew was handed nine penalty minutes, bringing his total to 31 in 43 games.

Kyle Quincey is not happy at being a healthy scratch. Quincey has been a healthy scratch for the last four games as he missed a couple of games with a groin injury. Coach Joe Sacco did not want to change a winning lineup as the Avs were on a five game winning streak but a 4-1 loss on Tuesday will get Quincey back in the lineup in place of Matt Hunwick. Adjust your lineup accordingly.

Kyle Quincey is ready to return from a groin injury, but he'll probably be a healthy scratch on Friday. The reason for Quincey's absence is a simple one: the Avalanche have won seven straight games and they don't want to alter a successful lineup. Once Colorado's winning streak ends, Quincey will probably be re-inserted back into the lineup.

Kyle Quincey is reportedly recovered from his groin injury and ready to return, but won't play on Wednesday night. He has missed the past two games with the ailment, but the Avalanche have emerged victorious in both of those contests. Quincey has 17 points in 32 games this season, which leads Colorado's blueline, and he is first on the team in average ice time at 22:42 per match so he likely won't be held out for very long.
