Red Wings defenseman Kyle Quincey suffered an apparent left leg injury on a terrifying play against Columbus Thursday. Columbus forward Artem Anisimov lost his footing on the same play and had to be taken from the ice on a stretcher with what could be a serious head or neck injury. The Wings have said that Quincey will not return to this game.

Kyle Quincey is no longer a member of the Denver Cutthroats of the CHL. Quincey lives in Denver in the off-season and was helping out Denver coach Derek Armstrong who is a friend and a mentor to the Detroit defenseman. Quincey had two goals and 11 points in 12 games and stated that he was also playing to give back to his community.

Kyle Quincey is "excited" for his Central Hockey League debut with the Denver Cutthroats. Quincey will make his debut Friday at the Denver Coliseumis and is scheduled to play 20 minutes a night. "Oh geez, he's going to play 20 minutes a night," Cutthroats coach Derek Armstrong said. "This is a great bunch of guys and he's among four or five guys on this team with NHL experience. Eventually he's going back to the Detroit Red Wings, who lost Nicklas Lidstrom, and he's a top-four NHL defenseman. He has to play hockey somewhere. He doesn't want to go to Europe. His (girlfriend) works here. He's going to play 20 minutes a night, I'll tell you right now. Probably won't kill penalties, because I don't know if he's going to block shots or not, to be honest with you, but he'll run our power play and play against the top line every night. He's here to play hockey. It's truly not a PR stunt."

Kyle Quincey has signed with the Central Hockey League's Denver Cutthroats. Quincey played in Colorado before he was traded to Detroit last season. He still spent his summer in Denver and did some training with the University of Denver. "Good friend of mine, and a real community-oriented guy. He wanted to give back to the community," Cutthroats coach Derek Armstrong said of Quincey. "When I met him he was a kid in the NHL and we sat next to each other in the locker room in L.A. He told me last summer if this thing happened (NHL lockout) he would like to play for me. Of course, he wants to stay in shape and be ready when the (NHL) season starts, but it was really about giving back to the community and believing in what we're doing for the community here." The Cutthroats are a new team that will play their inaugural game on Oct. 19.

Kyle Quincey is looking forward to a fresh start after a less than ideal stint with the Detroit Red Wings following his mid-season trade. Quincey, who was a restricted free agent, ended up signing a two-year/$7.55 million contract extension with Detroit this summer. He plans to use training camp to learn Detroit systems "systems inside and out." He also sees an opportunity to step up with Brad Stuart and Nicklas Lidstrom gone. He's a bit of a gamble going into the season, but he should get a chance to serve as a top-four defensemen in Detroit.

Kyle Quincey has agreed to a two-year deal with the Detroit Red Wings. The financial terms of the deal were not immediately available. The length is reasonable, given that Quincey had a less than stellar showing in Detroit following a mid-season trade. With Brad Stuart and Nicklas Lidstrom gone, the Red Wings will need a strong season out of Quincey in 2012-13.

Kyle Quincey and the Detroit Red Wings are reportedly close to agreeing to terms. The two sides are scheduled to have an arbitration hearing on July 26, unless they can get something worked out before then. Red Wings GM Ken Holland is hopeful that arbitration will not be necessary.

Kyle Quincey's arbitration date is July 25. Detroit traded away a first round pick to get Quincey as part of a three-way deal. At the time Quincey had 23 points in 54 games with Colorado, but he only ended up getting three points in 18 contests after the trade. Quincey made $3.25 million last season.

Restricted free agent Kyle Quincey has filed for salary arbitration. The defenseman earned $3.25 million last season, but after putting up 23 points in 54 games with Colorado, he struggled in 18 games with Detroit, recording just three. The 26-year-old is one year from unrestricted free agency and thus will have to be awarded a one-year deal by an arbitrator, which my not be a bad thing for the Wings if he has a rebound campaign in hopes of cashing in when he hits the open market.
