Abdelkader (upper body) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Maple Leafs, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports. Abdelkader was wearing a gray no-contact sweater during the team's morning skate and still looks to be at least a few days away from returning. Wednesday will mark the fifth consecutive game that he's missed.

Abdelkader will more than likely remain out for Wednesday's game against the Maple Leafs, but if he's able to get in a full practice over the next two days, he could rejoin the lineup before the week is out. Stephen Weiss has been the greatest beneficiary of his absence, emerging as a mainstay in the lineup with five points in the four contests that Abdelkader has missed.
