Abdelkader (upper body) took part in non-contact work during Tuesday's practice, Ted Kulfan of the Detroit News reports. Abdelkader will more than likely remain out for Wednesday's game against the Maple Leafs, but if he's able to get in a full practice over the next two days, he could rejoin the lineup before the week is out. Stephen Weiss has been the greatest beneficiary of his absence, emerging as a mainstay in the lineup with five points in the four contests that Abdelkader has missed.
