Ho-Sang (lower body) returned to practice for Bridgeport of the AHL, Michael Fornabaio of Connecticut Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ho-Sang was told to stay home rather than report to Bridgeport at the beginning of the season as the Islanders looked to meet his trade request. When no offer that met the requirements for the Islanders was received, Ho-Sang eventually did return to Bridgeport. Unfortunately, Ho-Sang suffered the injury shortly thereafter but should be able to return to the lineup in the near future. If Ho-Sang can prove healthy and plays well for Bridgeport, he may help the ailing offense for the Islanders at some point later this season.

Ho-Sang will report to AHL Bridgeport on Tuesday, The Athletic's Arthur Staple reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ho-Sang has remained away from the Islanders organization since he formally requested a trade Oct. 3, but he recently reached out to general manager Lou Lamoriello seeking a fresh start with the team, a request that was ultimately granted. The enigmatic winger likely won't have a major role with the big club in 2019-20, but he'll hope to play well enough in the minors to earn a qualifying offer as a restricted free agent this offseason.

There is nothing new in regards to the playing status of Ho-Sang, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ho-Sang requested a trade from the Islanders after not making the team out of training camp. General manager Lou Lamiorello told Ho-Sang at this time to not report to Bridgeport and he would try and work out a deal. No trade is reported to be close. The Islanders are shorthanded on offense due to several injuries but Ho-Sang is not an option to be called up as he still isn't playing.

According to general manager Lou Lamoriello, Ho-Sang's representative has asked for him to be traded, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ho-Sang has been unable to earn a full-time role with the Islanders since being selected by the team in the first round of the 2014 draft, but he's shown a lot of potential during his limited time with the big club since then, totaling seven goals and 24 points in 53 career appearances. The 23-year-old forward clearly thinks he'll have a better shot at a consistent NHL role with a different organization, but if Lamoriello is unable to find a trade partner, Ho-Sang will be sent to AHL Bridgeport.

The Islanders waived Ho-Sang for reassignment to AHL Bridgeport, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ho-Sang is a skilled skater, as he was picked by the Islanders 28th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft. However, he comes with maturity issues and defensive-zone shortcomings. Ho-Sang didn't prove he overcame those red flags in the preseason, so the Islanders are hoping he can clear waivers and continue his development in the minors. There's a chance he's picked up by another squad, but he's a risky player to keep with the big club. Over the last three years, he's played in 53 NHL games, recording seven goals and 24 points.

Ho-Sang believes he can be an asset to the Islanders if he were to earn a spot on the team out of training camp, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ho-Sang has had several stints with the Islanders over the past two regimes, but the same problems always seem to occur. The first issue has been his maturity level which has improved since he was a rookie but the second issue, his play in the defensive end, still shows up from time to time. The Islanders need offense, and Ho-Sang is a gifted skater who can provide it, but coach Barry Trotz insists on defense first and isn't going to allow Ho-Sang to freelance on the ice. If Ho-Sang can prove to Trotz that he has matured and that he will play as hard in the defensive zone as he does on offense, he could earn a spot on the second or third-line coming out of camp.

Ho-Sang signed a one-year deal with the Islanders on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Drafted 28th overall in 2014, Ho-Sang hasn't found his groove at the NHL level yet, scoring just 24 points in 53 career games with the big club. On the bright side, he tallied an AHL career-high 43 points last season. For now, it appears the 23-year-old will split time between the NHL and AHL levels again this season.

The Islanders extended Ho-Sang a qualifying offer Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Ho-Sang hardly did anything with the big club in 2018-19, notching two points in 10 games, but he was productive during his time in the minors, racking up eight goals and 43 points in 56 contests. He'll get an opportunity to secure a spot on the Islanders' Opening Night roster during training camp, but it wouldn't be surprising if the 2014 first-round pick is once again stuck in the minors for most of the upcoming campaign.

The Islanders loaned Ho-Sang to AHL Bridgeport on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Ho-Sang didn't crack the lineup during his two-game stay with the big club, so this move doesn't come as a surprise. The 2014 first-round pick will be a restricted free agent following the 2018-19 campaign, and it remains to be seen if the Islanders will show any interest in signing him to a new deal, as he's been unable to secure a full-time NHL role despite performing admirably in the AHL during his three years with the organization.

Ho-Sang was called up to the Islanders under emergency conditions Tuesday, Shannon Hogan of MSG Networks reports.
EDGE Analysis
This recall won't count against New York's four-player limit since the transaction itself was made due to two Islanders forwards being legitimately injured -- Matt Martin (upper body) and Cal Clutterbuck (head) -- and another that's dealing with an illness in Casey Cizikas. Ho-Sang claimed Player of the Week honors with AHL Bridgeport in mid-February, but the Islanders' 2014 first-round (28th overall) draft pick hasn't been able to seize a full-time role at hockey's highest level.
