Lehtera gathered two assists in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera hooked up with Vladimir Tarasenko on both of his goals in this one, bringing his point total to 10 in 17 games this season. Lehtera's value fluctuates depending on his linemates, so as long as he's spending time next to a legitimate stud in Tarasenko, he should be able to pick up his fair share of points. Just be mindful of his low SOG totals, as he's fired just 22 shots on goal this season.

Lehtera has tallied two goals and added six assists in 14 games this season.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera was impressive in his rookie year as he racked up 44 points on the Blues' top line, but was forced to undergo ankle surgery in August. It seems as though the ankle must be fully healed as Lehtera has played in all 14 games this season on the first line while adding two goals and six assists. Playing with Vladimir Tarasenko and David Backes on the first-unit power play will definitely add to Lehtera's offensive upside.

Lehtera opened the scoring Thursday with a first-period goal and added an assist in the Blues' win over Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera buried a rebound off of Troy Brouwer's shot from the right wing for his first goal of the season. He also got the secondary assist on Vladimir Tarasenko's second-period goal. Lehtera now has three points in his past two games and is plus-2 on the season. The Blues like to spread the scoring around and Lehtera figures to get a piece of the action.

Lehtera set up Robby Fabbri for the game-winning goal in Thursday's opening win against Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera corralled the puck behind the net and sent a beautiful backhanded pass to Fabbri to set up the score. After an impressive first season in the NHL, it's nice to see Lehtera clearly isn't just a one-hit wonder. His production may take a dip with Vladimir Tarasenko moving to the first line, but his play-making ability should keep him fantasy relevant.

Lehtera will play in Thursday's preseason matchup with the Blackhawks, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera has been held out of game action since he underwent ankle surgery on Aug. 4, so the fact that he'll get a chance to play in the Blues' final preseason contest ahead of their regular season opener on Oct. 8 is fantastic news for his owners. The 27-year-old forward registered 44 points (14 goals, 30 assists) in 75 games with the Blues last season.

Lehtera elaborated on his ankle injury that required surgery in August, telling Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, "It was a one-centimeter bone chip that was cutting the tendons like salami. It didn't feel that good."
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera is reportedly "ahead of schedule" since undergoing surgery on his ankle in August, and it's refreshing to see his sense of humor come out while talking about the subject. He'll try not to miss a beat following his 2014-15 campaign, when he cranked out 14 goals and 30 assists after 75 contests.

Lehtera told reporters on Thursday that he is "ahead of schedule" in his recovery from the ankle surgery he underwent in August.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera also told reporters that he will participate in a full team practice on Friday. It isn't clear when Lehtera will be ready to return to game action, but it's possible he could be ready for Saturday's preseason contest against the Blackhawks after logging a full practice on Friday. However, the Blues' may opt to proceed with caution by holding Lehtera out until the regular season gets underway on Oct. 8 against the Oilers. Lehtera, who registered 44 points (14 goals, 30 assists) in 75 games with the Blues last season, is expected to return to a bottom-six role with the team in 2015-16.

Lehtera (ankle) has skated two or three times on his own as the Blues' open training camp, reports Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
EDGE Analysis
This is more positive news for Lehtera who has had nothing but good reports on his recovery since ankle surgery in August. He should center one of the Blues' top two lines again this season once he's fully healthy.

Lehtera (ankle) is on schedule in his recovery from early August surgery and should be ready around the Blues' season opener, reports Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
EDGE Analysis
Lehtera had a nice rookie season, posting 44 points in 75 games while centering phenom Vladimir Tarasenko for much of the season. Given the nature of his injury, a slow start as he rounds into form is to be expected, but barring any set backs it sounds like he won't miss much time in the regular season.

St. Louis Blues center Jori Lehtera had ankle surgery last week that will keep him out for six-to-eight weeks, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Lehtera attempted to rest and rehabilitate the ankle, but with it still bothering him, he underwent surgery last Tuesday. A veteran of the Finnish and Russian leagues, Lehtera excelled as a 27-year-old rookie last season, totaling 14 goals, 44 points and a plus-21 rating over 75 games. After missing the Blues' penultimate game of last season with what was at the time referred to as a lower-body injury, Lehtera returned to the ice for the final game, but apparently much too soon. With the current timeline, Lehtera will most likely miss the entire preseason, and his availability for the start of the regular season is in doubt. If Lehtera is unable to open the season with the Blues, Patrik Berglund may move up to a top-six slot or the team may elect to give 19-year-old center Robby Fabbri a nine-game trial before returning him to juniors.
