Jonathan Toews (concussion) is hoping to play on Tuesday, but he's still not entirely symptom free. "I wouldn't say I'm 100 percent," Toews said. "If I was, I'd be ready to push myself right to the limit to get back in the lineup. It's about being smart and not rushing that too quickly where I'm not quite 100 percent yet." Sunday was Toews' fourth straight day on the ice, but he hasn't been cleared for contact yet.

Jonathan Toews (concussion) is targeting Tuesday's game against St. Louis for his return to action. Although he has not yet been cleared for contact, Toews has skated with his Blackhawk teammates for three consecutive practices and has not had any post-concussion symptoms. We don't know if doctors are ready to give Toews the go ahead to mix it up physically, but Toews believes they will in time for him to suit up against the Blues. We will continue to monitor the Hawk captain's status.

Jonathan Toews participated in the Blackhawks' practice on Saturday. It was Toews' third straight day on the ice. "You're supposed to feel better every day," Toews said. "People talk about setbacks, but I don't feel like I've really had any so that's a good thing. It's just the lungs that hurt a little bit. ... But that will come too." Toews is still waiting to get the green light to participate in contact drills. He thinks that Tuesday might be a realistic target date for his return, but nothing is set in stone.

Jonathan Toews has been dealing with the severity of his concussion which has now kept him out of the lineup for nine consecutive games. Toews skated with the Blackhawks on Friday and could be getting close to a return but realized that his concussion was more serious than he originally thought it would be. "It was so minor at first that it took some time to realize it might be something more serious," Toews said Friday. "You have to admit it to yourself, but you see so many guys around the league dealing with that right now and you don't want to be one of those guys. It took some time to come to grips with that and realize I had to rest to get better..."I thought a week-and-a-half-ago that I would be playing by now," Toews said. "That might be the most frustrating and difficult thing that I am back on the ice and I feel good out there and I feel like I should be playing in a couple of days. But no one else can tell me how I feel. It's up to me to be honest with myself and be smart about it." There is no timetable for his return.

Jonathan Toews (concussion) has skated for two consecutive days. "I feel pretty good," Toews said. "I feel like I've been off the ice doing nothing for three weeks, but considering the last two days on the ice I'm lot better than I thought I would be. I'm pretty positive about that." He was apparently battling concussion symptoms for a few games before he was shutdown, but at first they were minor and he consequently didn't realize he was dealing with something serious. He will not return on Friday.

Jonathan Toews, who has missed the past eight games with an upper-body injury suspected to be a concussion, skated for the first time on Thursday morning before his teammates practiced. "He had a good skate," coach Joel Quenneville said. "He felt good. It's very exciting for us to see him back out here. He's encouraged as well. It was a really good day. It's a big first step seeing him out here. We'll see how he's progressing but it was nice to see him." The Hawks bench boss was quick to add that there isn't a timetable in place for Toews' return, but judging how he feels after getting back on the ice could help the club determine that.

Jonathan Toews (upper body) had an "encouraging" off-ice workout on Monday, according to Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville. Quenneville wasn't sure when Toews would be able to resume skating, but Toews won't play on Tuesday. Although Chicago hasn't confirmed it, Toews is widely believed to be dealing with a concussion.

Jonathan Toews (upper body) will not play in either of Chicago's next two road games. Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville insists that Toews injury is still of the day-to-day variety, but it certainly doesn't sound like fantasy owners should count on him returning any time soon. Toews hasn't played since Feb. 19 and he still isn't skating. He is believed to have a concussion, but that hasn't been confirmed.

Although Jonathan Toews (upper body) still isn't skating, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville doesn't want to rule out the possibility of him joining Chicago on their current road trip. Chicago will play in Detroit on Sunday and St. Louis on Tuesday. Toews' upper body injury is believed to be a concussion, but that hasn't been confirmed. The silver lining is that Toews did do off-ice workouts on Friday, although we'd be very surprised if Toews ended up playing in either of Chicago's next two games.
