Jonathan Toews scored a goal and registered two assists in a 6-1 victory Saturday. Patrick Sharp also had a goal and two assists, giving him 50 points in 51 games. Patrick Kane scored his 13th goal and registered his 35th assist of the season. Viktor Stalberg, Marcus Kruger, and Sami Lepisto each scored a goal for the Blackhawks.

Jonathan Toews potted a goal and also registered an assist in the Blackhawks' 4-2 victory over the New York Rangers Thursday night. Toews now has 28 goals and 54 points this season and the Blackhawks need him to continue to be hot as they make their push for the playoffs. Toews is a much better hockey player than he is a fantasy star as the Blackhawks are making their case for a postseason berth and an opportunity to win the Stanley Cup.

Jonathan Toews is on a five game pointless streak. That slump is the longest of the season for Toews and more noticeable because the Blackhawks are in the midst of a staggering nine game losing streak. Toews has stepped up in the past when his team has needed him the most and they certainly need him now. At one time, they seemed like strong contenders for the Central Division title, but at this point they need to stop the bleeding just to avoid falling out of the playoff race. They now have just a three point lead over the ninth place Calgary Flames. With that in mind, we wouldn't be surprised if Toews breaks out of his slump in a big way in the not too distant future.

Jonathan Toews (illness) was healthy enough to participate in Monday's practice. Toews was too sick to practice Sunday. Consider him very probable for Tuesday's game.

Jonathan Toews didn't practice with Chicago on Sunday because he was sick. The silver lining is that Chicago doesn't play until Tuesday, so Toews still has some time to recover. We'll err on the side of caution and list him as day-to-day for now, but don't be surprised if he ends up returning before he misses any playing time.

Jonathan Toews registered an assist in his return from a wrist injury. Toews only missed one game thanks to the All-Star break. He should put up great numbers in the final stretch of the 2011-12 campaign as he and the Blackhawks claw for playoff positioning.

Superstar center Jonathan Toews has recovered from his wrist injury and will return to the Chicago Blackhawks' lineup when they open their nine-game road trip in Vancouver tonight. "I'm excited to be back," said Toews, who first injured his left wrist after taking a slash from the Panthers' Erik Gudbranson on Jan. 20. "I took the time I think I needed this past week. I'm excited to play hockey again." Toews tried to play through the injury but left during the second period of the Hawks' game against the Predators the next night and missed the Jan. 24 game against Nashville. "At that point I didn't think it was beneficial for me or the team to go back and try to do anything," Toews said. "It was just going to get worse at that point. The important thing is I feel like I can come back and I feel like I can get back to playing the way I was before and contribute and help the team."

Jonathan Toews (upper body) is expected to travel with the Blackhawks for Vancouver as they get ready for Tuesday's game. Although Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman sounded optimistic about Toews chances of playing on Tuesday, we should know a lot more after Chicago resumes practicing. Toews has missed one contest plus the All-Star Game over this injury.

Jonathan Toews was activated from the IL on Saturday January 28.

Blackhawks GM Stan Bowman said that Jonathan Toews (upper body) is looking to return to action on Tuesday. The Blackhawks dealt for center Brendan Morrison last night and there was some thought that Toews injury was more serious than thought but Bowman quickly put those rumors to rest. It looks like it will be okay to activate Toews for Tuesday.
